The Cost of Healing - My Road to Hysterectomy and AFTER!

Healing has a cost… and not just financially. In this episode, I take you on the journey leading up to my hysterectomy — the warning signs, the struggles, the decisions, and the moments that changed everything. I didn’t ask for iron deficiency anemia. I didn’t ask for my body to go through these changes. But I had to make a choice… to fight for my health, my life, and my future. This episode goes beyond the surgery. It’s about the road to healing — the physical pain, the emotional weight, the mental exhaustion, and the reality of navigating it all while still trying to function in everyday life. There were moments I felt: • Overwhelmed • Alone • Judged • Running on fumes with no relief Times I needed help and didn’t get it. Times I thought I had support… and didn’t. But in the middle of all of that… something shifted. ✨ My pain gave birth to purpose. This journey led me to create something bigger than myself… The Do You Want To Be Made Whole Community. A space for people who are: ✔ Healing in real time ✔ Rebuilding their lives from the ground up ✔ Seeking support, resources, and direction ✔ Trying to make sense of what they’ve been through Because I realized… There were too many moments where I needed help — and didn’t have it. So now, I’m becoming what I needed. This community is about: 💛 Healing (mentally, physically, emotionally) 💛 Financial literacy and life skills 💛 Support for families, especially those navigating disabilities 💛 Resources for people facing real-life challenges — housing, health, career, and more 💛 Walking with people as they rebuild, not just telling them what to do I’m not an expert. I’m still rebuilding. Still learning. Still becoming. But everything I’ve experienced is shaping me — and from this place, my message is real. If you’ve ever gone through something you didn’t ask for… If you’re trying to heal while still holding everything together… If you’re searching for purpose in your pain… This episode is for you. 💛 You are not alone. 💛 Your healing matters. 💛 And your story can become someone else’s breakthrough. 🎧 Listen, share, and download this episode with someone who needs encouragement. 🔔 Subscribe to Do You Want To Be Made Whole? Because healing is not the end… It’s the beginning of who you’re becoming.

The Cost of Being Her

What does it really cost to be “her”? We celebrate the modern woman — educated, independent, resilient, accomplished. We applaud the CEOs, the mothers, the entrepreneurs, the wives, the single women building empires on their own. But behind the degrees, the promotions, the smiles, and the strength… there is a cost. In this deeply personal and generational conversation, LaShanda honors the women who came before us — from grandmothers born in the 1920s and 30s who endured silent suffering without protection, to mothers who sacrificed dreams to provide stability, to today’s women balancing careers, motherhood, marriage, singleness, and survival in an economy that demands everything. And then she shares her own truth. From iron deficiency anemia that nearly required a blood transfusion… to preparing for a hysterectomy… to returning to work exhausted because bills don’t pause for healing — this episode pulls back the curtain on what strength really looks like. But beyond the physical and financial cost, there’s another burden we don’t talk about enough: Why do women tear down other women who are already carrying so much? Why the competition? The gossip? The silent comparisons? The judgment? With faith, vulnerability, and bold truth, this episode calls women higher — to healing, to maturity, to sisterhood, and to self-love. Because the cost of being “her” is already expensive. Let’s stop adding to the bill. If you’ve ever: • Shown up strong while secretly struggling • Carried trauma no one sees • Fought health battles in silence • Felt judged by other women • Or learned to love yourself later in life This conversation is for you. It’s time to heal. It’s time to evolve. It’s time to honor the weight we all carry. The cost of being her is real — but so is the grace that holds us together.
