BYGNING 1: Å IKKE VÆRE DER – GJERMUND FORTELLER Han arbeidet som militær rådgiver for Forsvarsjef, Forsvarsminister og endte som Rådgiver for Generalsekretær Jens Stoltenberg i NATO. Det er likevel året han var kontingentsjef for de norske styrkene i Afghanistan da fire norske soldater ble drept hans lederegenskaper ble testet. LINGELOFTET: OPERASJON MAGLAJ – EINAR FORTELLER Da General Rose ville sette inn spesialstyrker for å åpne veien til den beleirede enklaven Maglaj i Bosnia, var det til slutt to maskiner fra den norske helikopteravdelingen NorAir som tok på seg oppdraget. Einar Slinde hadde tidligere vært i Libanon, og tjenestegjort som systemoperatør i Nord-Norge, men aldri fløyet med GPS og nattoptikk før han fikk dette utlevert i Bosnia. Hør Einar fortelle om sin tjeneste i UNIFIL, den helt unike operasjonen i Bosnia og senere nervepirrende oppdrag i Afghanistan. FRIENDS & ALLIES – GENERAL SIR MICHAEL ROSE In this episode we follow Rose from his birth in Quetta, India – now in Pakistan, into his career through the ranks of the British military. He served in Britain and Northern Ireland with the Army, Air-Force and the Special Air Service. The famous live-on-television operation against six Arab terrorists holding hostages in the Iranian embassy in London made him a national hero. His actions in the Falklands cemented his reputation, and elevated the status of the SAS. Having trained Artic-Warfare with the SAS in the mountains alongside Norwegian Special Forces, Rose has a special relationship with Norway. Later, as Force Commander of the UNPROFOR-mission during the Balkan-war, he made an effort to fulfill the UN-resolution and secure necessary humanitarian aid to civilians. BYGNING 1: KOMMANDANTEN – OLE ASBJØRN FORTELLER Han hadde ledererfaring fra avdelinger i Norge og Bosnia. Likevel var det som kontigentsjef i Afghanistan han fikk de største prøvelsene da Norge mistet en soldat, og senere da norske soldater skjøt og drepte en sivil afghaner.
