Farewell for Now

After 1.5 incredible years and 70 episodes, we’ve reached a bittersweet moment: this will be our final episode of Get Scrolled. In this farewell installment, we reflect on the journey that has shaped this podcast from day one. We talk about the highs, the lows, the surprises, and the growth we’ve experienced along the way. We share their standout moments, and we revisit our top 3 episodes and why they meant so much.We also spend time discussing the themes that have always been at the heart of this show—diving into the truths of the Bible that many Christians may not always recognize and highlighting the importance of staying true to God’s Word. As we close this chapter, we offer our sincere thanks to every listener and subscriber who has joined us, encouraged us, and supported this journey. ‍ ‍ Show notes: Contact Information for questions and topics: getscrolled@graftedin.com [getscrolled@graftedin.com]   Giving Information: graftedin.com/give   Show Music by Jake Brake   Sponsored by: The Harvest Ministries – graftedin.com

When Science Meets Scripture: What Really Happened in Noah’s Day? Part 2

For centuries, the story of Noah’s Flood has stirred both faith and frustration. To some, it’s a cornerstone of divine truth; to others, a mythical tale disproved by science. But why does this ancient account provoke such strong reactions? In this episode, we continue to explore we explore the deeper tension between the biblical record and the natural record. From Genesis to Psalms, Job, and the New Testament, we explore how the Bible often uses the word “world” to describe the known human realm rather than the entire planet. We also look at how Science can provide some clarity to the subject and together with the Biblical record, reveal God’s consistent truth across every realm of His creation.   Show notes: Contact Information for questions and topics: getscrolled@graftedin.com [getscrolled@graftedin.com]   Giving Information: graftedin.com/give   Show Music by Jake Brake   Sponsored by: The Harvest Ministries – graftedin.com   Show Resources: Genesis 6–8 Job 38:8–11 Psalm 19:1–4;104:6-9 Romans 1:18–20 2 Peter 2:5 Reasons to Believe — https://reasons.org [https://reasons.org/] Walter A. When Science Meets Scripture: What Really Happened in Noah’s Day?

For centuries, the story of Noah’s Flood has stirred both faith and frustration. To some, it’s a cornerstone of divine truth; to others, a mythical tale disproved by science. But why does this ancient account provoke such strong reactions? In this episode, we explore the deeper tension between the biblical record and the natural record—and the anxiety that arises when the two seem to conflict. We’ll unpack the question at the heart of this debate: Is the natural record in conflict with the biblical record? Drawing from the Belgic Confession, Psalm 19, and Romans 1, we’ll examine the idea that truth is revealed through two “books”—the Book of Nature and the Book of Scripture—each requiring careful interpretation. Theology interprets the Word; science interprets the world. When they clash, maybe the fault lies not in the records, but in our interpretation of them.   Show notes: Contact Information for questions and topics: getscrolled@graftedin.com [getscrolled@graftedin.com]   Giving Information: graftedin.com/give   Show Music by Jake Brake   Sponsored by: The Harvest Ministries – graftedin.com   Show Resources: Genesis 6-9 Psalm 19:1-4 Romans 1:18-20 Belgic Confession Article 2

The Name Above All Names

There is much discussion and even confusion surrounding the Hebrew name of God. Most people have heard the name Yahweh. This name is recognized by the majority of Jewish and Christian scholars as God’s personal name revealed in Scripture. Yet, some groups claim alternate forms—Yehovah, Yahveh, Yahuah, and others. While these debates often focuses on pronunciation, in this episode we turn our attention to something far more important: the meaning of the Name itself. Additionally, we will explore how, during the Second Temple period, Judaism stopped speaking this sacred Name aloud. Out of deep reverence and fear of misusing it, only the High Priest was permitted to pronounce it on the Day of Atonement. Others risked punishment if they used it carelessly or in blasphemy. Join us as we move beyond the question of how to say God’s Name and instead focus on what it reveals about His nature. Discover why this divine self-revelation—Yahweh, the One who is, who was, and who will be—continues to speak to every generation.   Show notes: Contact Information for questions and topics: getscrolled@graftedin.com [getscrolled@graftedin.com]   Giving Information: graftedin.com/give   Show Music by Jake Brake   Sponsored by: The Harvest Ministries – graftedin.com   Show Resources: Exodus 3:13-15; 34:5-7 Psalm 103 Matthew 26:59-66 Gerard Van Groningen, “God, Names Of,” [https://ref.ly/logosres/bkrencbib?ref=Page.p+883&off=2858&ctx=d+in+regard+to+men.+~It+appears+6823+time] in Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible (Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Book House, 1988), 883.

The Hebrew Name of Jesus

In this episode, we dive into a topic that has sparked a lot of discussion and, at times, confusion—the Hebrew name of Jesus. Is it Yeshua, Yahshua, or something else entirely? Does the way we say His name affect our prayers or relationship with God? Many have encountered different teachings about the “correct” pronunciation of His name, often accompanied by bold claims and strong opinions. But what does Scripture say? What do historical and linguistic sources reveal? And how did we get from the Hebrew name of Jesus to the English name we use today?  Join us as we take a thoughtful and balanced look at the origins, meanings, and significance of the name of Jesus. Whether you’ve wrestled with this question or are just curious about the conversation, this episode will help bring clarity to this subject.   Show notes: Contact Information for questions and topics: getscrolled@graftedin.com [getscrolled@graftedin.com]   Giving Information: graftedin.com/give   Show Music by Jake Brake   Sponsored by: The Harvest Ministries – graftedin.com   Show Resources: Matthew 1:20-21 Acts 4:12
