E23: Do you Declutter Your (Mind/Body) Mess?

I recorded this episode about 5 days ago in the midst of clearing out my office.   Whilst working through the physical clutter (such as the accumulation of paperwork, books, certificates, flyers etc) it got me thinking… We collect things.   We collect crap.  We hold onto ‘stuff’ that doesn’t serve us.  As we have more access to space/years/knowledge we hold onto more stuff.   Remember when you were a baby or a small child - you owned nothing; no belongings you’d purchased yourself, not many long term memories, no “baggage”, not many self limiting beliefs (if any), no fully developed awareness of self and others, no articulated learned experience.   But fast forward to our 30’s and 40’s and beyond and what we do have/hold - tonnes of crap, and not just in our homes but also in our mind and body! So this podcast is just a positive ponder on the art of decluttering our life.  We do it with our rooms, our homes, our car, our careers even, but do we do it with ourselves???   Do we let go and metaphorically ‘bin’ the things that no longer serve us?  If we don’t then we have to deal with the impact of accumulation and overcrowding and hanging onto things that we no longer need or don’t provide value anymore.   Holding onto all of this mental (and embodied) clutter is going to cause chaos in your relationships with yourself and others, which is only going to lead to challenges in physical and mental wellbeing. So today, let’s talk about this analogy of decluttering where I’ll bring in a snapshot of thoughts and wisdom of others from their teachings and shares, and give you a bit of food for thought with how we should cleanse and renew ourselves on the regular for a closer shot at living a life of clarity and joy. E22: Expand Yourself With Hard Emotions

Imagine if you could use your tough, ikky, hard emotions to expand yourself!   Well you can.     In today's masterclass I’m going to cover the emotions of fear, sadness, grief, anger, confusion, loneliness, jealousy and guilt, and help you reposition them so that you can find their power AND their message.   But to do this you've got to listen to their noise…  get ready to turn up the volume! Life is a myriad of shit-storms amongst our preferred bed of roses, but when we get struck with a difficult situation and it brings with it the “negative” emotions the last thing we want to do is bury them - this might seem counter-intuitive, but by being in the emotion we get some clarity of intention.  Let’s stick to a plan of action to celebrate the message in the mess. In this week’s episode I’ll take you through a technique that you can use to re-frame your hard emotions through the use of words and colours alongside embodiment and leaning into the emotion itself.  But we’re not re-framing them in a way to ignore them or discount them, but rather letting them stand in all their glory and delivery of their message.  By choosing acceptance of these feelings/emotions then we can move into a place of expansion where growth becomes our driving force. And if that wasn’t enough, I’m also going to take each of the hard emotions I’ve focused on and give you at least 3 activities that you can do to allow you to lean into the emotion and teach yourself a new way of acting on it.  As the teacher and the student you will then be able to cherish these emotions as expansive and transformational by positively receiving the subliminal messaging they deliver with much more clarity. As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones!  Also, if you're feeling generous and like what you hear then any ratings and feedback would be welcomed!  Please contact me directly if you have any Q&As or topics to be explored in future shows.  Also, if you’re interested in coaching with me then please connect with me on social media or via the details in the shows home page, alternatively you can pop a discovery chat in the diary with me by using this link: https://calendly.com/vitalvibe/discovery-call  [https://calendly.com/vitalvibe/discovery-call ] Much love! E21: Do You For You - With Grace and Compassion

Life is such a myriad of assumptions, requirements, projections and standards, especially when it comes to interpersonal and romantic relationships.  We take our unique style and try to find someone to complement that and also even mirror it.   But it’s pretty impossible because we’re all different. Yet we give advice and receive advice throughout our life and how can this advice always ring true for you - it’s received by you but given by someone else.  What works for one person may not work for another, and therefore we receive and perceive everything so differently.  That’s why we just all need to be ourselves and make our own choices without guilt, shame or judgement.   The key here is to accept and own ourselves with grace and compassion, and extend this human right to others in your space. We’re all products of our own environment, our past, our present, our genetics, our epigenetics, our childhood and our adult relationships - we are shaped by so much and this is even more apparent as we move through life.  When you hit your 40’s you’ve usually worked out who you are and are ready to either lean into that or make some changes so you can become the person you’re now ready to be.  We can't be railroaded to be who someone else wants us to be.  So just be you and do your own thing. In this episode I’ll go through what shapes us in life from trauma to attachment types to societal conditioning, personal values and even your horoscope.  If you mix everything up we will never be a mirror image of anyone.  And that’s okay.  We need to embrace the value of difference and accept who and how we are.    The episode will finish with a snapshot of how to do you for you. Also, if you’re interested in coaching with me then please connect with me on social media or via the details in the shows home page, alternatively you can pop a discovery chat in the diary with me by using this link: https://calendly.com/vitalvibe/discovery-call [https://calendly.com/vitalvibe/discovery-call] Much love! E20: How to Handle Wrong Decisions & Choice

Let’s talk about doing stuff wrong.   Hands up if you’ve EVER made a wrong choice or a bad decision?  Hmmm, I can see a lot of hands going up here (honestly, I can).  I put both my hands up, and my feet!     Sooooo many times.   But hey, I don’t regret it (even the costly ones), but I do recognise that feeling of “oooohhhh sh!t, what have I done??” We’ve all been there and realised we’ve made a boo-boo of the highest order.  We’ve misused our time, our money, our energy, our intentions.  We’ve backed the wrong horse and it has created a real dilemma.     But it’s about owning this and stepping up to reclaim the situation and deal with it!    Not ignore it.   No, deal with!   In this week's podcast I’ll talk about regret, calculated risks, damage limitation and the sunk cost fallacy.  I’ll also highlight the chaos of emotions we feel from bad choices; anger, guilt, frustration, annoyance, sadness, and despair.     And it’s okay to stay in this place for a short while as emotions need to play out, but you CANNOT stay there.   Let’s get you back on track. I’ve give you a viewpoint on a few examples and then I’ll highlight some key actions that you must take to get yourself out of harm's way, because the more you  sit and don’t act, the more you’ll get deeper and deeper into stress, regret and despair.     The best thing you can do in these situations, as always, is take agency and own yourself.     We are flawed human beings, no one is perfect, period.   So as soon as we recognise that life isn’t a series of great choices and best decisions then the sooner we can roll with those punches and get back up when we go down. Portada del episodio E19: When No Means No - The Voice of Women

E19: When No Means No - The Voice of Women

TRIGGER WARNING: It’s taken 2 years for me to activate my voice on this matter but with the recent media events of a famous comedian, it’s opened the door for me to stand in my power and talk out about my own experiences of sexual assault. In doing so I hope that more women will feel stronger to speak out of their experiences, and even more importantly that any men listening will get a reminder that this behaviour is not okay. If this will trigger you then you may choose to skip the episode, or feel safety in knowing that you are not alone. I’m a feminist but that doesn't mean I dislike men - in fact the very opposite is true. But most countries and cultures are inadvertently governed by the patriarchy, either historically or currently, and only in recent years have women gained more rights for equality and to activate their voice and power, but this hasn’t been as rapid and is by no means equal. Hence why I’m a feminist; for equality of power and rights. As a woman it’s super hard for us to find our voice after abuse and sexual assault, although with the #metoo movement and the furore after a British police officer sexually assaulted and murdered a member of the public that he was employed to protect, there have been some changes. I’ve had experiences with the police where they’ve not effectively, or empathetically, listened to my allegations and I wanted to speak out after my last experience ended up in me NOT going to the police. As women, we don’t talk about our encounters due to the shame, the guilt, and the potential assumptions that people will make as well as the reliving and the extension of the trauma. I’ve had 5 sexual boundary violations throughout my life (I say 5 as the more serious but of course cat calling, slapping your bum and just general maltreatment of me as a woman will account for way more than 5 times). I’ll also talk about relationships and encounters with dark triads, sexual predators and misogynists and how this can hold us in a trauma bond whilst they demean us and break us down with their bad behaviour and unscrupulous ways. This is why boundaries and self agency are so important. Because, way back when, I didn’t have any. Not that boundaries stop a sexual predator, but they do potentially move you a little out of harm's way. It took a cancer diagnosis to make me sit up and listen to my nervous system and its people pleasing tendencies that had developed over years in the trauma response. I developed acute symptoms of PTSD (after my experience in 2021) and I’ve since done work on this and identified why I was a possible target (attachment type, ADHD, empath, self esteem, people pleaser, lack of boundaries). EMDR has helped me massively. **Disclaimer - none of this was my fault/is your fault. I’m just explaining why I might have been easy prey after the perpetrators sussed me out. So be your own bodyguard and get yourself some boundaries.** As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones! Also, if you're feeling generous and like what you hear then any ratings and feedback would be welcomed! Please contact me directly if you have any Q&As or topics to be explored in future shows.
