Kids Message: Baptis Catechism 50-51--Who Get's First Place?

In this week's Kids Message at Harvest Liberty Lake Church, we explored the First Commandment: "You shall have no other gods before Me." — Exodus 20:3 Using medals and the idea of "first place," we taught our children that God alone deserves the highest place in our hearts. Just as only one person receives the gold medal in a race, only God is worthy of our worship, glory, and devotion. Together we learned: • God deserves first place • God is the only true God • We worship God alone • God deserves all the glory We also considered the many things that can compete for first place in our hearts—sports, toys, games, friends, and even good gifts like family. Most importantly, we pointed our children to Jesus Christ, who perfectly obeyed the Father and died to save sinners who often put other things before God. May this message encourage both children and adults alike to ask: "How can I give God first place in my heart this week?" Scriptures: Exodus 20:3 Psalm 29:2

Preaching and Living the Word (1 Tim. 4:6-16)

What makes a faithful pastor, teacher, or Christian leader? In this sermon through 1 Timothy 4:6–16, Pastor Sam Kraemer explains Paul's powerful charge to Timothy to faithfully teach the Word of God, avoid distractions and false teaching, and live as an example before the church. In a culture filled with opinions, entertainment, and endless distractions, God calls His church to remain devoted to Scripture — through preaching, teaching, exhortation, discipleship, and faithful living. This message covers: • Why expositional preaching matters • The importance of teaching the whole counsel of God • The power of Scripture to transform lives • Why churches must avoid "silly myths" and distractions • How pastors and teachers grow through practice and study • What Christians should look for in a healthy church • Why all believers are called to teach and disciple others Whether you are a pastor, church member, Bible teacher, parent, or new believer, this sermon is a reminder that God's Word must remain central in the life of the church. 📖 Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:6–16 Additional References: 2 Timothy 3:16–17 Acts 20:27 Matthew 28:19–20 Isaiah 55:11 1 Corinthians 2:1–2 Subscribe for more sermons, teaching, and resources from Harvest Liberty Lake Church.

Apostasy, False Teaching, and Persevering in the Faith 1 Timothy 4:1–5

What does it mean to "fall away" from the faith? Why do some who once profess Christ eventually abandon Him? And how can believers guard themselves against false teaching in an age of deception? In this sermon from 1 Timothy 4:1–5, Pastor Sam Kraemer examines the biblical reality of apostasy and the dangers of false teaching. Scripture warns that in the "later times" some will depart from the faith, devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons. Yet alongside these warnings, believers are also given the comfort of God's preserving grace and the assurance that Christ keeps those who truly belong to Him. This message explores: * The biblical meaning of apostasy * Jesus' warnings about falling away * The difference between true saving faith and superficial belief * How false teaching often disguises itself as godliness * Why doctrine and holy living must remain connected * Practical ways believers can guard themselves and one another This sermon calls Christians to examine themselves, remain grounded in Scripture, stay connected to the local church, and persevere faithfully in Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. **"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you…" — Philippians 2:12–13**

Kids Message: BC 48-49--God Saves First

Why did God give the Ten Commandments? Did He expect His people to obey first so they could earn freedom? In this week's Kids Message, Pastor Sam Kraemer uses a fun and memorable object lesson to teach children an important gospel truth: God saves His people first, and then teaches them to obey. Looking at the introduction to the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20, kids learn that God rescued Israel out of slavery before giving them His commands. In the same way, Jesus frees sinners from the bondage of sin so they can joyfully follow Him. This short teaching helps children understand: * The difference between Christianity and every other religion * Why we do not obey God to earn His love * How Jesus sets sinners free * Why obedience is the result of salvation, not the cause of it Key Truths: * "God saves first, then teaches us to obey." * "We do not obey to earn God's love. We obey because God loves us." Scripture References: * Exodus 20:2 * John 8:36

What is the Church (1 Tim. 3:14-16)

What is the church—and why does it matter? In this sermon from 1 Timothy 3:14–16, Pastor Sam Kraemer explores three powerful biblical pictures of the church: • The Household of God • The Church of the Living God • The Pillar and Buttress of the Truth In a culture that increasingly treats church involvement as optional, Scripture reminds us that the church is not merely a building, event, or organization. The church is God's family, the dwelling place of His presence, and the community entrusted with upholding the truth of the gospel. This message calls Christians to recover a biblical vision of the local church—one marked by covenant commitment, meaningful fellowship, gathered worship, and unwavering devotion to Christ and His truth. At Harvest Liberty Lake Church, we believe the church is not something Christians merely attend, but a spiritual family we are adopted into through Jesus Christ.
