Dress with stuffed olives. Simple. Elegant. Tasty. TODAY'S REAL LIFE COCKTAIL GINGER RABBIT 1/2 ounce star anise and black tea-infused simple syrup* 1 slice fresh ginger1 strip lemon peel 2 ounces Basil Hayden's bourbon 1/2 ounce Creme Yvette 1 dash Angostura bitters Add the syrup and ginger to a mixing glass. Twist the lemon peel over the glass to express the oils. Drop the peel into the glass and muddle with the syrup and ginger. Add the bourbon, Creme Yvette and bitters with ice and stir until well-chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Recipe for infusion is given in the podcast. Place all liquid ingredients into a shaker with cracked ice. Hard shake Strain and pour into your favorite chilled cocktail glass Garnish with gusto! TODAY'S REAL LIFE COCKTAIL: Skeleton Key Cocktail 1 ½ ounces bourbon ¾ ounce St. Germain elderflower liqueur ½ ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice 3 to 5 ounce ginger beer 6 to 8 dashes Angostura bitters You make this one in the glass – no shaker required. 1. Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour in the bourbon, St Germain, and lemon juice. Top with the ginger beer. 2. Shake in 6 to 8 dashes Angostura bitters. Serve immediately. Slight swish of the ice cubes and it is delicious and refreshing and it doesn’t knock you on your arse – and that’s always a good thing.
