Thriver Mini Series - 2 Amber Storbeck

Amber is a Minnesota-based mom of two, adventure lover, & stage IV cancer thriver who’s redefining what it means to be alive. After being diagnosed with HER2+ BC that later spread to her brain, Amber has outlived her prognosis and chosen to live with intention, curiosity, and a little bit of “send it” energy. She spends her days chasing adrenaline on jet skis, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles, while also leaning into deeper conversations about faith, perspective, and what really matters. Amber is passionate about helping others feel less alone in hard seasons and reminding people that joy and struggle can coexist. Her story isn’t about surviving - it’s about fully living.

Thriver Mini Series - 1 Risa Wendland

Risa is a stage 4 Thriver that lives with her significant other Matt of 24 years and their cat Little Missy. She has worked with health insurance for several years. She loves to travel with her significant other Matt.  They try and visit friends in Arizona once a year and also try to take a winter vacation someplace warm each year.

Episode 26 - Stacie Linnell

Stacie Linnell and her husband Dave live in Hastings, where she is a retired elementary teacher who enjoys spending time with their 11 grandchildren, substitute teaching, and supporting other women through their breast cancer journey. At age 56, Stacie was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and is now a seven-year survivor. She is passionate about helping women navigate their breast cancer experience and advocates for flat closure as a healthy, empowering option after mastectomy. Stacie hopes to offer support, education, and encouragement to those facing similar challenges.

Episode 25 - Steph Kennelly

Steph Kennelly is an educator, cancer survivor, and passionate advocate for cancer patients and cancer research. In 2020, at age 37, she was diagnosed with Stage II invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC), a moment that forever changed the trajectory of her life and work. In 2023, Steph stepped away from her teaching career to serve as Program Manager for the Center for Genome Engineering at the University of Minnesota, where she advances efforts to fund innovative cancer research. Beyond her professional role, she partners with INDY Foundation to design restorative experiences for cancer patients and families through the GVL Thrive program, helping others find moments of hope and renewal during treatment and beyond.
