Acerca de Saskatchewan Physician Assistant Podcast

The Saskatchewan Physician Assistant podcast was created by the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine with the goal of providing listeners with information about the physician assistant profession. This limited series podcast we will cover topics such as What is a physician assistant? What training is required to become a physician assistant? What is it like to work in a physician/PA dyad? and more.  We acknowledge our campuses and sites throughout Saskatchewan are on treaty territories and Homeland of the Metis. We pay our respect to the First Nations and Metis ancestors of this place and reaffirm our relationship with one another.

Host: Dr. Scott Tunison Teaching and Learning Specialist in Faculty Development in the College of Medicine as well as a member of the Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) faculty. Guests: Dr. Paul Olszynski: Dr. Paul Olszynski is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Director of Simulation and Clinical Ultrasonography at the University of Saskatchewan. A leader in simulation and Point-of-Care Ultrasound, Dr. Olszynski has helped shape ultrasound education nationally. He’s a founding member of the Canadian Society of POCUS-EM Fellowships and a recipient of multiple teaching awards. Dr. Cathy MacLean: Dr. Cathy MacLean is a family physician and medical education leader with over 30 years of experience. Dr. MacLean has held leadership roles at several universities across Canada and, as PAST-PRESIDENT of the College of Family Physicians of Canada, has helped shape national healthcare policy particularly related to team-based care and innovation in family medicine. She’s currently Director of Faculty Development at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Medicine. Dr. Warren C.W. Latham: Dr. Warren Latham is the Corporate Chief of Orthopaedics at Scarborough Health Network and the lead surgeon of their Foot and Ankle program. He’s also President of the Canadian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He is a dedicated mentor and active researcher. He also consults for top orthopaedic companies and provides expert medico-legal opinions. Aurthi Muthukumaran: Aurthi Muthukumaran is an experienced Physician Assistant working in Emergency Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery at Scarborough Health Network. Aurthi also serves as Academic Coordinator in U of T’s PA program, supporting curriculum development and student success while sitting on key academic committees. Guests: Rebecca Mueller: Director of the Master of Physician Assistant Studies program at the University of Manitoba. Rebecca began her career in nursing before becoming a Physician Assistant in 2010. She has extensive experience in both oncology and palliative care and even created a 24-hour palliative care service in Ontario. Rebecca has also taught in PA programs at McMaster University and guest lectured at U.S. PA schools. She has also contributed to the Journal of Canada’s Physician Assistants.  Dr. Ginger Ruddy: Director of the Office of Student Affairs in the College of Medicine and a Family Physician at West Winds Primary Health Centre. She has worked with Physician Assistants in the past and brings valuable insight from her experience collaborating with PAs. Dr. Trustin Domes: Academic Director of the Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program, an Associate Professor at the University of Saskatchewan, and a Urologist. He previously served as the Director of Admissions for the College of Medicine. Ashley Millham: Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) with 35 years of military experience and 15 years of clinical practice. He has served with the Canadian Special Operations Forces and as a Primary Care Clinic Supervisor within the Canadian Armed Forces. In the final two years of his military career, he directed the Canadian Armed Forces PA Training Program. Additionally, Ashley has practiced occupational and urgent care medicine at a remote diamond mine in the Northwest Territories. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants and serves on the Board of Directors as the Alternate Director for Saskatchewan Learn more about the USask Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Program. Me suscribi con los 14 días de prueba para escuchar el Podcast de Misterios Cotidianos, pero al final me quedo mas tiempo porque hacia tiempo que no me reía tanto. Tiene Podcast muy buenos y la aplicación funciona bien.
