Sickle Talk: Running the Shores feat. Bianca Griffin

September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month. Welcome back to another episode, where we speak with our first guest, Bianca Griffin, President and Spokeswoman of the Jack and Jill Erie Shores Chapter. On September 8th, the Erie Shores Chapter and the American Sickle Cell Anemia Association will be holding a 5K Run/Walk, Running the Shores, where we honor the memory of the late founder of the ASCAA, Dr. Edgar B. The Oldest (Community-Based) Sickle Cell Agency

Sickle Talk is back! After a hiatus, Sickle Talk is making its return as a podcast. After three long years since our last episode, we return to talk about the American Sickle Cell Anemia Association, and how this organization got its start over 50 years ago, and the Newborn Screening Program. This federal and state program tests newborn babies for dozens of debilitating disorders, including sickle cell anemia. Creative and have sickle cell anemia? Send in your artwork, photographs, stories, and more to sickletalk@ascaa.org. Your art could be featured in an episode!
