Pentecost - A Game Changer

The Book of Acts records the birth of the New Testament Church in Acts 2 and the Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John finish the foundation that was laid in the Old Testament of God's Plan for salvation. In the Old Testament and the Gospels, the Spirit of God, which is the Holy Spirit was not available to the average person. The promise of the Holy Ghost was given in the Old Testament but it was not given until Acts 2 on the Day of Pentecost. The Heart of the Matter

The heart is often considered the central organ of our body. The Bible refers to the heart as the center of our being and motivation. It tells us that in God's dealings with man, the Lord is looking at our heart. There are four types of hearts - the wayside heart, the stony heart, the thorny heart and the good heart. Since our heart is central to successful living for the Lord, we must guard our heart. Mothers - Essential for God's Plan

The Bible shows us that the Lord is the author of life but still He chooses women to be the ones to bring life into this world. This makes every mother an important part of God's plan for this world and creation. Because of that the Devil is at enmity with women and mothers. If he can destroy or corrupt women, then he can impact future lives and possibly eliminate potential deliverers. There is a burden that comes as mother trying to raise their children for the Lord. The Lord is Looking for the Faithful

Living for the Lord is a process that begins at salvation that is broken into three areas: being called by the Lord, the Lord choosing us and faithful service to the Lord. One of the great themes of the Bible is that God is faithful to us. And in response, we are to be faithful to Him. But faithfulness requires commitment, doing the small things. Be Ready

One of the greatest themes in the Bible is to be prepared or ready for the Lord's coming and to do the Lord's will. There are a number of different ways that the Bible tells us that we should be ready: 1) to hear or respond, 2) for his coming, 3) to serve or work, 4) to endure and 5) to witness. Watching and praying is essential for being ready for the Lord's coming. Since living for the Lord includes seasons, we must know the word of God to be able to recognize the season that we are in so that we can be ready to serve the Lord however He needs us to.Click Here for slides from this message
