We’re talking about the moments where faith gets uncomfortable when people switch up, fear takes over, prayers feel heavy, and everything seems to fall apart. The same people praising Jesus suddenly turned against Him. The disciples scattered when things got hard. Peter folded under pressure. Judas let guilt consume him. And through all of it, Jesus still chose love, sacrifice, and grace. This conversation is honest, reflective, and raw for anyone who’s ever struggled with disappointment, confusion, shame, or trying to trust God when life doesn’t make sense. Because sometimes we think faith means always being strong, but these moments show how messy people really are and how faithful God still remains in the middle of it. You tell yourself they’re in a better place. You believe it. You really do. So why does it still feel this heavy? Losing someone who loved Jesus hits in a way you don’t expect, because it’s not just personal, it’s spiritual. It leaves a silence where their prayers, their guidance, and their presence used to be. In this episode, I’m talking about the loss of my pastor, the weight of losing fellow believers, and the tension of grieving while still holding onto faith. Why loss can pull us closer to God… and why it can also leave us with questions we don’t know how to answer. And the harder truth: not every believer gets a peaceful ending. Some suffer deeply for their faith and that reality should shake us. This isn’t tied up neatly. It’s just real.

As we read Matthew chapters 10–13 together, we’re given a clear picture of what it actually means to follow Jesus, and it’s not comfortable. We see that not everyone who hears the Word is changed. Some fall away, some get distracted, and some never truly receive it. Jesus calls out surface-level faith, fear of people, and hearts that look right on the outside but aren’t surrendered within. This isn’t about playing church or just knowing the truth, it’s about living it. Real faith will cost you something. So, the question is: are you actually following Him, or just hearing Him?
