Acerca de The I Project

With the arrival of smartphones and social media, we were told that the world was becoming more connected. But as mental health declines while our digital addictions grow, it's clear that something human has been lost in the shuffle. On The I Project, we dive into the roots of this disconnection and explore new ways of thinking, seeing, and being.  The I Project is the podcast of Immersioneer, a sense-making community focused on deepening human dialogue in the digital age. The podcast is hosted by founder Clancey Hilkene.

Music Therapy with Rosa & Sora

Singer-songwriter Rosa Tu performs an assortment of original compositions and folk songs. Musician-singer Sora Harris-Vincent joins. Clancey does practically nothing. *Recorded in November of 2018. ---- ABOUT THE GUESTS: ROSA TU * A multi-cultural New York-based singer/songwriter with a penchant for vocal harmony, Rosa writes to open up windows into the unconscious and bring listeners into themselves. While people stay home, searching for meaning in the mess of social media, news, and advertisements, Rosa writes stories of psychological and emotional freedom where no one is buying or selling anything. * Combining elements of folk, pop, and classical music, Rosa's songs lean heavily towards the dark, painful sides of human experience. She believes exploring these parts of ourselves is a way to deep and unconditional love. She sees the kind of beauty she hopes to express in the work of poets and artists like Mary Oliver, Frida Kahlo, and Joan Baez. What emerges are introspective songs based on personal experience, expressing timeless, universal stories. * Rosa released her first album 'In Winter's Shade' [https://open.spotify.com/album/3ES93O2HuIuUYP00GgVUu5] in 2013, followed by a 5-track album 'Glass House' [https://rosatu.bandcamp.com/album/glass-house] in 2015. In 2016 she moved to Berlin to write and perform with her cousin as the acoustic duo Mother's Favorite Daughter [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l70Fqje8k3o]. Rosa's music video "Davy and the Priest" [https://vimeo.com/335049831] was an official selection for Roma Cinema Doc 2020 [http://roma.cinemadoc.it/official-selections-roma-cinema-doc-2020/#experimental] in the experimental film category. Rosa's single and animated short film 'The Swamp' [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_DI_38m9tI] comes out April 17th, followed by her full album 'Drink All The Wine,' [https://soundcloud.com/user-35615427/sets/its-a-dream/s-JY73O] available in August, 2020. She is represented by the label/collective The Famous Gold Watch. * fb/ig: @semperosa [https://www.facebook.com/semperosa/] label@thefamousgoldwatch.com [label@thefamousgoldwatch.com] rosatumusic.com [http://rosatumusic.com/] SORA HARRIS-VINCENT Sora Harris-Vincent grew up with music woven into her every day life. She is a musician and singer, a teacher and doula — sharing her love and appreciation of music with everyone in her communities and beyond. Sora and Rosa made music together their whole lives (technically, since utero!) as womb friends and now as adults; creating and performing music about life, love, and loss. Sora believes that grieving and living are constantly evolving reciprocal acts of shared learning. Through authentic and intentional community and discussion, she continues to explore these themes through music and people with which she engages. Sora is a member of the Boston-based quintet Culomba as well as a teacher for Village Harmony, a nonprofit organization that teaches and promotes traditional folk music from around the world. She hopes this music brings a smile to your face and heart. ---- Theme music composed by B.E.N. http://bit.ly/BENmusic [http://bit.ly/BENmusic] Questions or comments?
