I find that the more you solve problems, the better you get at solving problems which means you become much better at closing loans. In my career, I've been known as the guy everyone sends loans to that no one else can close simply because I am curious and because I don't give up when things seem tough. Most loans have a solution, you just have to find a way to overcome that obstacle or find someone who can offer some words of advise. Having experience and knowledge in the mortgage industry does help but is not a requirement, since things are constantly changing which means you have to continuously learn new things that will result in overcoming new problems.
