More Insights into the Soundcore Nebula X1 Pro

On this week’s episode of The Projector Podcast Jeremy Glowacki interviews Nikki Kahl about her recent review of the Soundcore Nebula X1 Pro. In her hands-on testing, Nikki found that the X1 Pro makes good on its central promise of being a complete, portable home theater system, with strong picture quality across every format and a 400-watt Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 surround sound speaker system. In the current landscape of portable projection, there is a widening divide between devices designed for convenience and those built to deliver a true cinematic experience. Many fall exclusively into one category or the other. The $4,999.99 Soundcore Nebula X1 Pro positions itself as something more ambitious: a portable 4K projector that does not ask to be excused for its size but instead aims to deliver the level of image quality, scale, sound, and immersion typically associated with a dedicated home theater. It is designed for those who want the flexibility of a portable system without relinquishing those expectations. Digging into Our BenQ LU895UST Projector Review with Brian Nadel

Freelance writer and editor Brian Nadel joins us on The Projector Podcast to discuss his most recent review of the BenQ LU895UST ultra short-throw projector and to preview his upcoming review of BenQ’s LK830ST short-throw projector. As Brian writes in his review, the $3,500 LU895UST was designed to get up close to the screen by combining more than 5,000 lumens with ultra-short throw optics, a fast response time, and a quick way to create accurate multi-projector panoramas. These features make it just as good for general use, as for gaming or high-quality simulations. Brian’s hands-on testing confirmed that it is not only one of the brightest UST projectors in its class but also is among the smallest, lightest, and easiest to set up. Looking Back on the AWOL Vision Aetherion Max

Sammie Prescott joins us to discuss his recent review of the AWOL Vision Aetherion Max ultra-short throw laser projector. Earning our Highly Recommended Award, the Aetherion Max is AWOL Vision’s new flagship UST RGB laser projector, succeeding the LTV-3500 Pro, which has been discontinued. Drawing on the same DNA found in the extremely popular Valerion VisionMaster line of lifestyle projectors, sister-brand AWOL Vision has a strong foundation from which to elevate its UST lineup. With its feature-packed design, the Aetherion Max essentially delivers a Valerion VisionMaster in a UST form factor. Hands-On with the Soundcore Nebula P1

On this week’s episode of The Projector Podcast Jeremy Glowacki interviews Nikki Kahl about her recent review of the Soundcore Nebula P1. In her hands-on testing, Nikki found the $800 P1 to be a capable 1080p portable lifestyle projector that prioritizes flexibility, including detachable speakers for audio, and ease-of-use over absolute image fidelity. It runs Google TV for integrated streaming and includes a suite of smart features such as autofocus, keystone correction, and obstacle avoidance, all aimed at simplifying setup in casual viewing environments. At the heart of the Nebula P1 is a Texas Instruments 0.23-inch DMD DLP imaging chip paired with an LED light engine rated for up to 25,000 hours of operation. Soundcore lists a brightness of 650 ANSI lumens with a published contrast ratio of 400:1. Soundcore specifies color coverage of up to 124 percent of the Rec. 709 color space. Frame interpolation via MEMC is included for smoothing fast-moving content, such as sports, and a low blue light mode is available for viewers who prefer reduced eye strain during extended viewing sessions. A Deep Dive into the Hisense PT1 UST Projector

This week, veteran AV writer and reviewer Al Griffin joins us from Buffalo, NY to discuss his recent review of the Hisense PT1. Earning the coveted Highly Recommended badge, the $3,000 ultra-short throw “laser TV” projector features an RGB laser light engine, 4K detail from four-way pixel shifting and extended color gamut, supporting screen sizes from 80 to 150 inches with a 0.2 throw ratio. That means it can beam a 100-inch images with the lens positioned 17 inches out from the projection screen. But, that’s just scratching the surface of our extensive look at the Hisense PT1.
