Looking at the life of David in the Bible with a focus on Psalm 51 verses 2 and 3, we can see that David called on the cleansing power of God to wash him thoroughly. True Repentance comes by acknowledging our sins and knowing, our sins can only be expunged by God! We are to direct our in-depth repentance toward his saving grace and mercy True Repentance also comes from knowing that our confessed and forgiven sins do not define us. We are still children of God!
