To live a life of freedom is to have the freedom to do what you want, when you want and how you want. It’s a life where, in spite of the circumstance, you have at least 97.9% say in how your day goes, what you eat, when you sleep, when you work, with whom you associate and who you choose to be. A life of freedom is when you have absolute freedom of mind, body and spirit. With freedom comes balance, I’m not just talking about measuring things with a scale, but also of knowing when something needs to be done and to what degree it should be done. Balance is knowing when to speak and knowing what words to use, how those words would send the message you want and not sending mixed message. When you’re free to do as you want and you know where to draw the line to find the balance, this is where stability comes in. A free mind may understand balance, however without s stable mind, freedom and balance are useless. Why? Because a stable mind is the heart of a successful life. Stability comes from firmness, solidness and unwavering spirit. When you’re stable you’re in full control of what you do and to what degree you do it, no one can influence you into doing otherwise. However, when you only have freedom and balance, you’re open to outside influence. So, if balance, stability or freedom is what you need to move your life to that level you’ve always dreamed of – It could be in your business, family, relationship, or your career, heck it could even be in recreation or becoming a more spiritual person, then this show is for you. Every week I’ll return here with thought provoking and belief challenging topics that’ll move you to take the necessary action to live that life you’ve always wanted to live. The best way to stay updated in order not to miss any episode is to subscribe below to our show and follow us on social media for special updates outside the show and inspiring posts to keep you on your feet. Life knocks everybody down, but the difference maker is how you pick yourself back up and how fast you do. As a Charlse Swindoll quote emphasize, life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react. Be of good spirit, keep a good attitude and never forget that when there’s a will, there’s a way. I also like to add, when you want it you must will it, and when you will it, it will be yours. God bless you. Catch you on soon!

SLP 003: How to Successfully Handle Direct People in 5 Easy Steps

Each one of us has a style of communicating that is unique. Some of us are talkative and extroverted while others are quiet and reserved. Some of us are outspoken while others are less likely to share their opinions in public. Still some of us are formal and direct while others are informal and like to take our time getting to the main point. So how do these different styles of communication impact us in the workplace? Today, I’m taking you on a journey on how to handle direct people; that is people with a direct communication style. These people can also be said of as being no-nonsense, formal, straightforward, straight-shooters, and all that. Direct communication style people also tend to be bossy, like to be in control, believes they’re the best at handling the most delicate work, and are mostly none-playful. In a word we can summon this people up as being ego driven, but of course, all they have is a high self-esteem. They don’t want you taking up their time with compliments. When you have a request, they’re likely to prefer a one sentence note or email, and they’re the kind of people who hardly get together with their colleagues during lunch to talk about how their weekend was spent. When you work with someone who has a decidedly different communication style from your own, that difference can act as one of the barriers to effective communication. Working with people like these can be a little bit chaotic if you’re the chatty type. Their super dedicated personality might even get them ahead of you. Well, it’s not because you’re not good yourself, it’s because most organization prefers those who can take things to the next level in an instant. That being said, associating with people like this in the work environment will not be easy, even when you’re the junior. But like everything in life, there’s a way to overcome these differences, as I prefer to call it. It involves learning the basic characteristics communication styles and how they influence the context in which your communication is happening. If you can learn to understand the other person’s communication style and how it is manifesting itself in the way they communicate, you are learning your audience and what they need in order to understand your message. So how do you start? Easy. Listen to this episode to find out the 5 mega tricks and tips to successfully handle the direct styled communicator in your workplace or personal life. You might also want to grab your notebook and pen or if you prefer, get your electronic notebook because this episode is packed with a lot of values YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS. Don’t forget to subscribe to the show if you haven’t already done so, and ensure you stay updated on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter Thanks for stopping by, I hope this episode helps you somehow in your career journey. God bless you and catch you next week. Tessa.

SLP 002: How to Achieve Your Goals in 2017 with a Good Attitude

Yeah, I know it’s kinda too late to talk about How Good Attitude can Help You Reach your Goals in 2017, but don’t forget that 2017 extends to the very last day of December 2017, and as does the New Year and any year at all. And there are still does struggling with their resolutions according to Business Insider. So I thought this might help. Yes, 2016 ended. I believe a lot of us made resolutions at the beginning of that year and some of us had their goals met while some of us didn’t. Technically, it’s not an issue if we didn’t because I didn’t, too. So we’ll just stand back, take a deep breath and relax. All is well. At least we made it to the end of the year with the greatest goal anyone could ever set. . . A goal not many people planned for which should have been the first on their list. . . We made it to the end of 2016 with our lives! What else could be a greater achievement? So I’m glad and I believe you should be too. It’s not easy to have scaled through life with its many problems, troubles and the messes it seems to throw our way. Many of us wanted to do more, be more and get more out of the year but somehow, something somewhere got stocked in our way and hindered us from doing that important thing. Sitting in the comfort of my bedroom and looking right in the mirror as if I could see the previous year saying good bye empty handed. Recalling the things I promised to do in the New Year and failed at. I was whining and nagging myself one afternoon about my failure when a friend came to me. She had the same problem. Her goal was to quit her job and this goal had seen three years of failed resolution achievement. When I asked her why she failed, (as if I didn’t already know why), she told me she didn’t know why. So why do people fail to work on their resolutions or goals? I discovered the answer a couple years ago and ever since, I’ve had it easy to achieve my goals each year in spite of how I started the year, because this one thing makes or break success, especially, New Year resolutions. So if you’re one of those struggling to keep up with their resolutions after the first 2 weeks of January or you want to find more actionable ways to keep moving on other goals, then this episode is a must listen for you. In it I share the ONE SECRET to ACHIEVING your goals this year and many years to come. Ensure you listen till the end because at the end of it is a free tool to help you reach your goals this year. And don’t forget to stay tuned on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Thanks for listening and God bless you. Tessa.
