Acerca de Weekly Torah Reading (Read by an AI Voice)

I have been wanting to read the entire Chumash each week but there are no audio recordings of it. This is an AI version of my voice reading the Kehot Chumash from Chabad. It weaves in Rashi commentary to make it easier to understand. All readings can be found at https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/4292310/jewish/Kehot-Chumash.htm Any errors in reading are due to the AI. I am not looking over recordings before posting so please listen with caution.

Portada del episodio Bamidbar - Shelach (Numbers 13:1–15:41)

Bamidbar - Shelach (Numbers 13:1–15:41)

All recordings are created by copying Sefaria using the Kehot Chumash from Chabad english translation. The Text to Voice is using English AI... sorry for any weird speech. Please note that release schedule is based on the year 5786. Some weeks do not have a Parsha. You can always look up the current Parsha Here [https://www.chabad.org/parshah/default_cdo/jewish/Torah-Portion.htm]. If you like the recording please consider donating to Chabad [https://www.chabad.org/tools/donate/donate_cdo/aid/161548/sc/t6198/jewish/Donate.htm] to help continue their effort to make resources like this more accessible to the Jewish population! Bamidbar Shelach (Numbers 13:1–15:41) Twelve scouts tour Canaan and return with a split vision: a land flowing with goodness, yet “giants” and fortified cities. Fear spreads; the people weep and rebel, yearning for Egypt. Caleb and Joshua insist, “We can surely ascend,” but the community chooses despair. God decrees forty years of wandering—one year per day scouted—so the fearful generation will pass, though He stays with Israel. A rash attempt to storm the hills without divine backing ends in defeat. Laws about offerings, first dough (challah), and atonement for unintentional sins re-center life around hope and practice, while a willful violator is punished. The portion closes with tzitzit—fringes to “remember and do all My commandments”—a daily antidote to the eyes’ misdirection. Themes to listen for: perception vs. reality, the cost of collective fear, and habits that anchor courage.

Bamidbar Behaalotecha (Numbers 8:1–12:16) The menorah’s lamps are directed to cast light forward, and the Levites are consecrated for service. Those who missed Passover due to impurity receive Pesach Sheni, a second-chance ritual that makes room for life’s disruptions. A cloud above the Mishkan and silver trumpets guide departures and encampments; Israel leaves Sinai, and early steps falter—complaints rise, fire breaks out, and craving for meat brings quail and a hard lesson. Seventy elders share Moses’ spirit to carry the burden, while Eldad and Medad prophesy in the camp—Moses longs for a nation of prophets. Then Miriam and Aaron speak against Moses; God defends him, Miriam is struck with tzara’at, and the whole nation waits seven days for her healing. Themes to listen for: guidance by light and signal, the holiness of second chances, shared leadership, and a community that pauses for one person’s restoration.

Bamidbar Nasso (Numbers 4:21–7:89) The census of Levite duties continues, then the camp is refined: impurity is moved outside, stolen goods are repaid with an added fifth, and the ritual of sotah addresses marital suspicion before God, aiming to resolve jealousy and restore peace. The nazir vow offers a path of heightened devotion—abstaining from wine, avoiding impurity, and not cutting hair—culminating in offerings that return the nazir to ordinary life sanctified. God teaches the priests to bless the people with protection, grace, and peace (Birkat Kohanim). Twelve tribal leaders then dedicate the altar with identical gifts, day by day, underscoring unity in diversity. The portion closes intimately: Moses hears the divine voice speaking from above the Ark. Themes to listen for: repairing trust, optional pathways of holiness, blessing as public good, and generosity that equalizes honor.

Bamidbar Bamidbar (Numbers 1:1–4:20) In the wilderness of Sinai, a census counts every able-bodied man for Israel’s defense, tribe by tribe, establishing leaders and the camp’s orderly formation around the Tent of Meeting—Judah to the east, then Reuben, Ephraim, and Dan leading their respective sides. The Levites replace the firstborn for sacred service and camp nearest the Mishkan, safeguarding it on every journey. Their clans receive distinct roles: Gershon transports curtains, Merari the frames and sockets, and Kohath the most holy vessels—but only after the priests cover them. Holiness requires distance, precision, and teamwork so the Presence can dwell in the midst of a people on the move. Themes to listen for: order as a vessel for holiness, service matched to calling, and the dignity of being counted with purpose.

Portada del episodio Vayikra - Behar (Leviticus 25:1–26:2)

Vayikra - Behar (Leviticus 25:1–26:2)

All recordings are created by copying Sefaria using the Kehot Chumash from Chabad english translation. The Text to Voice is using English AI... sorry for any weird speech. Please note that release schedule is based on the year 5786. Some weeks do not have a Parsha. Vayikra Behar (Leviticus 25:1–26:2) From Sinai come laws of the land’s rest: the sabbatical year (shemittah) every seventh year and the Jubilee (yovel) every fiftieth, when land reverts to ancestral families and indentured Israelites go free. Sales are priced by harvest years remaining; exploitation and interest are banned; kin-redeemers help restore property and dignity. Even when poverty strikes, “your brother” is to be supported so he can live beside you. Slavery is limited and humanized for Israelites—“they are My servants”—and strangers are treated justly. The section closes by tying it all back: no idols, revere the sanctuary, keep the Sabbaths. Themes to listen for: economic reset as holiness, time healing inequality, land as God’s, and compassion as policy.
