They quit London and built a home out of “junk” - The story of Beeview Farm

⚡️ Ever fantasised about breaking free from the grind? This episode, we meet a family who actually did it - leaving London behind for a self-sufficient, off-grid life in remote West Wales. 💡Charis and Mathew Watkinson, the couple behind Beeview Farm, built their family home from an old horsebox and materials that were otherwise destined for landfill. Their journey hasn’t been simple - including a long legal battle - but it’s a remarkable story of creativity, resilience and conviction. 💬They share how they turned a dream into reality - and what you need to know if you’re tempted to follow in their footsteps. 👥 Your hosts are Ollie and Philly Guillou. Our aim is to speak to as many people as possible living alternative lifestyles, in the hope of finding our wild way home. 📱 If there’s an alternative lifestyle you’d like us to feature on the podcast, send us an email to hello@ogpodcasts.co.uk [hello@ogpodcasts.co.uk] 📱 Learn more about Beeview Farm: https://www.facebook.com/BeeviewFarm/ [https://www.facebook.com/BeeviewFarm/]  🎙️ An OG Podcasts [https://www.ogpodcasts.co.uk/] production.

He’s lived off-grid his entire adult life: “  I'd go shopping on horseback” | Tao Wimbush of Lammas Ecovillage

⚡ ️ Could you make the leap to full off-grid living? What if you had a helping hand, and a group of neighbours who were all in it together? That’s what life is like for the residents living at Lammas Ecovillage. 💡 Lamas is one of the most famous ecovillages in the world. Only 15 years old and made up of around 20 holdings, it’s a small, off-grid settlement in West Wales. Tao Wimbush has been at Lammas since the very start. He lives a very land-based, practical and seasonal life, squashing the normal “9-5” into half an hour a day. 💬 Tao has lived off-grid his entire adult life - and at one point living in a straw bale roundhouse in the woods, using horse as his only form of transportation. But now, with Lammas, he’s adopted a slightly less restrictive approach to sustainable living. 🎧 Learn how to Tao finds fulfilment through a deeper connection with community and the environment. 👥 Your hosts are Ollie and Philly Guillou. She couldn’t find the right school - so she built her own! “ Traditional school isn't setting kids up for success in the real world”

⚡ ️Imagine 4-day school weeks, outdoor learning as standard, limited access to devices - and children who want to be at school. This is the dream of Liberty Woodland founder Leanna Barret. 💡 Many people are questioning whether the traditional school system is really setting their kids up for success - whether sending them away 5 days a week is truly best for them. And while homeschooling rates are increasing, many parents want something that meets somewhere in the middle. 💬 That’s why we’ve invited Leanna Barret onto the show - she’s the founder and headteacher at Liberty Woodland School, an independent school in South London. After struggling to find the right school for her kids, she decided to set up her own. It has gained a lot of media attention thanks to its unique approach to learning and 4-day week schedule.  🎧 Learn how children are benefitting from this radical new take on education - but also the challenges that come with stepping outside the norm. 👥 Your hosts are Ollie and Philly Guillou. Our aim is to speak to as many people as possible living alternative lifestyles, in the hope of finding our wild way home. 📱 If there’s an alternative lifestyle you’d like us to feature on the podcast, send us an email to hello@ogpodcasts.co.uk [hello@ogpodcasts.co.uk] 📱 Connect with Leanna: Website: https://www.libertywoodlandschool.com/ [https://www.libertywoodlandschool.com/]  LinkedIn: https://uk.linkedin.com/in/leanna-barrett-5263a29b [https://uk.linkedin.com/in/leanna-barrett-5263a29b]  🎙️ An OG Podcasts [https://www.ogpodcasts.co.uk/] production.

How to decide which alternative life is for you: “All great change starts in the imagination”

⚡ ️Fed up with the ‘normal’ way of doing things, but not sure which alternative way of life will suit you and your family best? Well, you can get many ideas by listening to this podcast of course - but we want to take it a step further with this episode. 💡 It’s possible one day you’ll fall in love with vanlife, or permaculture, or worldschooling - or it might be that your wild way home doesn’t exist yet. So for this problem we need to engage our imaginations. 💬 That’s why we’ve invited Rob Hopkins onto the show - he’s the author of How To Fall In Love with the Future and an expert in helping people unlock their imaginations. Not only is he an activist whose lifestyle sits outside the norm - but he’s also interviewed many people with alternative views on life in his podcast From What If to What Next.  🎧 Learn how to be optimistic about an uncertain future - and find out about The Transition Movement, Rob’s way of reestablishing community and connection. 👥 Your hosts are Ollie and Philly Guillou. Life on a canal boat: “It’s not easy but it’s worth the freedom”

⚡️ Have you ever walked past a row of narrowboats, bobbing up and down in one of the UK’s stunning canals and wondered - what would life be like on one of those? Well, we have too. 💡 Life aboard a canal boat offers freedom, a deeper connection to nature, cheaper living and a little bit of something new every day. But it definitely comes with its difficulties too.  💬 That’s why we’ve invited The Canal Boat Family, Doug and Chrissy, onto the show, to find out what life is like for them. 2 years ago they packed up their lives in London and started a new life on the water, with their now 4-year-old daughter. They are the proud owners of a 60ft traditional narrowboat, practising continuous cruising while living as sustainably as possible. 🎧 Find out about the highs and lows of daily life for the couple - and discover whether canal life is the life for you. 👥 Your hosts are Ollie and Philly Guillou. Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
Bra app. Oversiktlig og ryddig. MYE bra innhold⭐️⭐️⭐️
