Our heart loves what we were brought up listening to growing up r&b, blues, jazz, and the emergence of hip-hop. But as we mature and our ear turns or does it? Is your soul being fed by what you hear? Can lyrics drive your behavior and attitude? Can Christians listen to music outside of hymns, gospel, etc?

Church Folks sits down with an ALL-FATHERS panel to discuss everything about fatherhood. Today, the biblical definition of fatherhood is under attack by the far left who do not see the relevance of the traditional role of the father in the home and society. God is calling fathers to turn their hearts to their children and the hearts of the children turn to the hearts of the fathers.  The purpose of this podcast is to talk with fathers to share their experiences being a father and how their fathers play an instrumental role in how it affects their parenting skills etc.

Healing Your Trauma with Dr. Dorothy Smith | Church H.U.R.T Series

In this episode, Church Folks collaborate with Dr. Dorothy Smith, LCSW to discuss HEALING your Trauma. The last phase of the Church H.U.R.T series. They discuss why millennials are not returning to church, and how trauma can impact our behaviors. Next, the topic of how spiritual trauma and trauma, in general, are pretty similar. Lastly, we learn more about Dr. Smith's applications toward healing your pain through her S.E.E. method and she gives us the tools to help us heal.

In this special girlfriend hour, Church Folks hosts a group of mothers of all backgrounds, close in age, and with decades of friendship under their belt. This episode focuses on and celebrates motherhood. We talk about our joys as the family matriarchs, the challenges, our support systems, and lessons learned along the way. This episode was pure joy and enabled us to fill our emotional cups knowing that many of our struggles are not unique and we have come to understand that it Takes A Village.

The conversation ebbs and flows toward the duality of the church's role in creating a safe at the same time seeing their participation in creating trauma for some. Lastly, we discuss how to show up in those spaces where we have been traumatized and still be effective members of society.
