Shaykh Hassan Lachheb is a classically trained Islamic scholar who has dedicated his life to the study and teaching of sacred knowledge. He has extensively studied a wide range of disciplines, including Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Jurisprudence), Arabic grammar, philology, and literature. Shaykh Hassan has also earned numerous ijazaat—formal licenses to teach—in fields such as Hadith, Quranic sciences, and comparative jurisprudence. These authorizations have been granted to him by some of the most respected Islamic scholars in Morocco, where he received a significant portion of his traditional education. In his academic and spiritual journey, Shaykh Hassan has maintained a deep commitment to both the classical tradition and modern relevance. His expertise spans the foundational Islamic sciences as well as contemporary applications of sacred knowledge. He brings a unique blend of linguistic mastery and jurisprudential depth, helping students not only understand the texts but also contextualize them within daily life. Currently, Shaykh Hassan serves as the lead faculty member and a founding figure of Tayseer Seminary in Knoxville, Tennessee. Through this role, he continues to teach, mentor, and guide students in their pursuit of Islamic knowledge and spiritual growth. Outside the classroom, he is known for his humility, warmth, and dedication to his community. Shaykh Hassan lives in Knoxville with his wife and three children, where he remains active in educational and community development initiatives.
