episode The Hashimoto's Questions Nobody in Your Facebook Group Can Actually Answer cover

The Hashimoto's Questions Nobody in Your Facebook Group Can Actually Answer

We're back. Four months off, a lot going on behind the scenes, and we finally felt inspired to bring the podcast back with a different approach. Back in the chairs, more casual, and less edited. If the lighting's a little off, so what. The content is what matters and that's what we're focused on. One episode a month. This month and next month we're covering Hashimoto's and thyroid conditions. We went into Facebook groups and forums, pulled the questions people are actually confused about, and just talked through them. Here's what we got into: why Hashimoto's is an immune system problem before it's a thyroid problem, why only testing TSH and T4 isn't giving you the full picture, how T4 to T3 conversion works and why nobody talks about it, what's actually going on when you wake up anxious between 1 and 3am, and the gut connection that most people overlook completely. We also read a post from someone in a Hashimoto's group going off on anyone who suggested diet or lifestyle changes. We didn't hold back on that one….at all.  If you've ever felt like your labs came back "normal" but you still feel terrible, this one's for you. Your diagnosis is not a death sentence and you are not stuck. If you've got a thyroid or Hashimoto's question, drop it in the comments or in our Facebook group. We'll pull it for next month's episode. UPCOMING EVENTS Thriving with Hashimoto's Webinar, May 28th (virtual) Way more depth than we could fit into one episode. episode H. pylori: The Hidden Stomach Infection Sabotaging Your Gut (and Everything Downstream) cover

H. pylori: The Hidden Stomach Infection Sabotaging Your Gut (and Everything Downstream)

episode may completely change how you understand your digestion. In Episode 19 of Healthcare Rewritten, Dr. Lena and Dr. Collin break down one of the most common — and most overlooked — gut infections: H. pylori. Often silent for years, this spiral-shaped bacteria lives in the stomach lining, suppresses stomach acid, damages the gut barrier, and quietly drives inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, and chronic digestive symptoms. H. pylori doesn’t just cause bloating or reflux — it weakens digestion at the top of the gut, opening the door for parasites, candida, bacterial overgrowth, fatigue, brain fog, and anemia downstream. You’ll learn why acid-blocking medications often make symptoms worse over time, why healing stalls when sugar isn’t addressed, and why testing and treatment must happen in the correct order to avoid relapse. • What H. pylori actually is and why it’s so common• Why H. pylori thrives when stomach acid and immune defenses are low• Why most reflux is low acid, not high• How PPIs suppress symptoms but worsen the gut terrain• Common real-life patterns: bloating after meals, fullness, burping, nausea, fatigue, anemia• How H. pylori opens the door to parasites, candida, and dysbiosis• Why conventional breath tests and antibiotics often miss the root cause• How sugar suppresses stomach acid and immune response• The correct healing order: digestion → drainage → targeted support ✔️ Signs your reflux may be low acid✔️ Symptoms that point toward impaired digestion✔️ Why sugar reduction is foundational for gut healing✔️ What NOT to do if you suspect H. pylori✔️ Why testing before treating matters 👉 Join the No Sugar Challenge [https://twwwesleychapel.myflodesk.com/nosugardetox]👉 $99 New Patient Special [https://twwwesleychapel.janeapp.com/#/discipline/4/treatment/19]👉 Join our Facebook Group [https://m.facebook.com/groups/thewellnesswaywesleychapel/?ref=share] 🎧 Subscribe & FollowNew episodes every Tuesday. Parasites AREN'T The Root Cause

If you’ve been bloated, constipated, itchy, exhausted, or notice your symptoms worsen around the full moon… this episode is for you. In Episode 17 of Healthcare Rewritten, Dr. Lena and Dr. Collin uncover one of the most overlooked contributors to gut dysfunction: parasites. These “creepy crawly” opportunists silently disrupt digestion, drainage, hormones, skin, and energy — and conventional parasite cleanses often fail because they don’t address the root cause first. You’ll learn why parasites only take over when your gut terrain is inflamed, stomach acid is low, drainage pathways are clogged, or your immune system is overwhelmed — and how to correct it. What We Cover in This Episode:• How parasites silently hijack digestion, hormones, and mood• Real patient cases: bloating, diarrhea/constipation, itchy skin, sleep disruption, irritability• Common U.S. parasites: Blastocystis hominis, Giardia, Dientamoeba fragilis, pinworms, roundworms• How parasites steal nutrients, overwhelm the liver, and disrupt bile flow• Why conventional medicine misses them and outdated testing fails• The terrain approach: drainage → digestion → parasite protocol• What to track at home: bloat, sleep, cravings, skin flares, and mood• Why TikTok cleanses and aggressive parasite protocols can backfire Tangible Takeaways:✔️ Symptoms that scream “parasites”✔️ 6-step action plan: awareness → drainage → reduce fuel → support digestion → test → avoid common mistakes✔️ How to reset your gut environment so parasites lose their power✔️ Practical dietary and lifestyle steps to support your body today Referenced in This Episode:👉 Schedule a Discovery Call [https://twwwesleychapel.janeapp.com/#/discipline/2/treatment/1]👉 Download the Leaky Gut Guide [https://twwwesleychapel.myflodesk.com/leakygutguide]👉 Supplement Store [https://wesleychapel.thewellnessway.clinic/shop/product-category/supplements/] 👉 No Sugar Challenge [https://twwwesleychapel.myflodesk.com/nosugardetox] 👉 Facebook Group [https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fm.facebook.com%2Fgroups%2Fthewellnesswaywesleychapel%2F%3Fref%3Dshare&data=05%7C02%7CWesleychapel%40thewellnessway.com%7Cddeae10557ff44a397cb08de3d963734%7C8f035e7bcdbf409d9c690f0aca742b6e%7C0%7C0%7C639015912567500789%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=cDaNP0JivzszWn9mw96PMvfWRBATrD98PLo7meH3NOg%3D&reserved=0] 👉$99 New Patient Special [https://twwwesleychapel.janeapp.com/#/discipline/4/treatment/19] Subscribe + Follow:Never miss an episode — follow Healthcare Rewritten on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube. Candida: The Yeast Beast — Why Yeast Overgrowth Is Sabotaging Your Gut, Skin, Hormones & Mood

If you’re bloated, exhausted, craving sugar nonstop, dealing with stubborn skin issues, or feeling “off” no matter what you try… this episode might finally explain why. In Episode 16 of Healthcare Rewritten, Dr. Lena and Dr. Collin break down one of the most misunderstood gut issues we see in the clinic: Candida and yeast overgrowth. This isn’t just a vaginal yeast problem — candida affects your gut, brain, hormones, thyroid, immune system, cravings, and mood. And most people treat it the wrong way. You’ll learn what candida actually is, why it overgrows, what it does inside the body, and how it creates symptoms that seem totally unrelated — until you understand the terrain. What We Cover in This Episode: • Why candida shows up in 60–70% of stool tests• How yeast impacts digestion, detox, hormones, and skin• Why cravings, PMS, acne, brain fog & fatigue often trace back to yeast• How antibiotics, birth control, stress & mold trigger overgrowth• What candida toxins do to your liver, brain & mood• Why yeast almost never appears alone (bacterial + viral patterns)• What leaky gut, low stomach acid & sluggish bile have to do with it• Real patient cases: bloating, acne, cravings, and irritability• Why candida “comes back” after conventional antifungals• Why terrain → drainage → digestion must come before killing yeast Tangible Takeaways: ✔️ What candida feels like (and the unexpected symptoms)✔️ The 5-step approach: Drainage → Blood Sugar → Digestion → Address Yeast → Rebuild✔️ Foods that fuel yeast vs. foods that calm the terrain✔️ What to track this week (cravings, bloating, skin, energy)✔️ The digestion supports that make the biggest difference✔️ Why aggressive anti-candida cleanses backfire✔️ What stool testing shows — and why retesting matters Referenced in This Episode: 👉 Lineage Provisions Grassfed Meat Snacks use code DRCOLLIN for 10% off [https://lineageprovisions.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoo-KPHHrz7EQV1bonNi1urK4cPkjoXTBs6Rno5dhtBkgF_jGP0H] 👉 Schedule a Discovery Call [https://twwwesleychapel.janeapp.com/#/discipline/2/treatment/1]👉 Healthcare Rewritten Facebook Group [https://facebook.com/groups/healthcarerewritten]👉 Download the Leaky Gut Guide [https://twwwesleychapel.myflodesk.com/leakygutguide]👉 Supplement Store [https://wesleychapel.thewellnessway.clinic/shop/product-category/supplements/] Subscribe + Follow: Never miss an episode — follow Healthcare Rewritten on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube. Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
