Father's, You Are Appreciated! (With special quest, Ashley Johnson)

This episode is dedicated to all of the men out there that are showing up for their kids and families daily and making sacrifices that your families may never know. I wanted to use this episode to show father's that they are indeed appreciated and that ya'll mean more to your families than you will ever understand. Although, we may not stress it enough I want you to understand that you are Valued, Appreciated, & Loved. I wanted to dedicate this episode to my father, husband, brother's, and all of the great father's out there.

On this special episode, I share some of the best lessons that I received from my mom growing up. I write a letter to her through my words on this episode to show my appreciation for the sacrifices that she made for us and for providing me and my two younger brothers the foundation of christ that helped us become who we are today and that shaped me into the praying mother that I am. I am blessed to be the the praying mother that I am today because I had a great example of what a praying mother really looked like.

On this episode of "From Grief to Glory" my friend Denise Perkins joins me to share her compelling testimony of how she overcame depression, suicidal thoughts, and losing her faith while facing some of the toughest times of her life as a parent. Six years ago, she received the most devastating news a parent could imagine hearing, her 18 year old son had been killed by a drunk driver while catching a ride with a friend. To her dismay, loss didn't stop there, while still grieving the loss of her son, and questioning herself & God, she then had to stare grief in the face again with losing her youngest sister to domestic violence. Without hesitation, Denise agreed to take on the responsibility of raising her sister's three young children along with her teenage daughter, with no idea of how this was going to work with her current lifestyle. To her surprise not only did God provide the means and resources to support her new life and responsibilities but he also restored her faith and gave her a new found purpose and drive for life in the process, that she never thought she would have again after losing her son. With this testimony of from grief to glory, Denise shows us as parents how to trust the process, and how to keep pushing and praying your way through no matter what life throws at you and that God will not put more on you than you could bare.
