episode Ep 16 - Daniel Alberdeston cover

Ep 16 - Daniel Alberdeston

Daniel’s story is one I really connect with. At the center of it all is something simple, a camera that has always been there. From disposable film cameras to digital systems, Daniel has carried a camera with him for as long as he can remember. For him, it’s never really been about the gear. It’s about capturing the moment before it’s gone. Alongside photography, Daniel has spent much of his life in the ocean as a dedicated bodyboarder, and that deep connection to the water naturally evolved into a passion for surf photography. Anyone who has ever tried to photograph the ocean knows it’s not easy. Timing, patience, and a deep respect for the power of the water all come into play. His work has connected with brands and publications across the surf world, including Wave Riding Vehicles, WAXD Magazine, and most recently Session Magazine Issue No. 10, Summer 2025. He also works closely with tools made for photographers who are willing to step directly into the action, including SPL Water Housings in San Diego. In this conversation we talk about travel, chasing waves, photography, and the mindset it takes to keep creating over the long haul. We also talk about the connection between the ocean and creativity, and why some photographers are always pulled back to the water with a camera in hand. Because at the end of the day, photography and wave riding share something in common. You can’t force it. You have to be patient. You have to be present And when the moment comes… you have to be ready.

episode Ep 14 - Bryanna Bradley cover

Ep 14 - Bryanna Bradley

Bryanna Bradley is a Tofino-based surf and outdoor photographer whose work captures the raw beauty, energy, and emotion of sport, nature, and human connection both in and out of the water. Professionally trained as a photojournalist, Bryanna’s creative path has evolved into surf and wedding photography, while keeping documentary storytelling at its core. Her images are shaped by natural light, contrasting color, genuine laughter, and the small, fleeting moments that define real experience. At the heart of her work is a people-first approach rooted in presence, emotion, and authenticity. Bryanna’s journey is one of resilience and transformation. After experiencing a traumatic brain injury (TBI), she embarked on a life-changing hike along the Continental Divide Trail, an experience that reshaped her relationship with photography, nature, and purpose. That chapter led her to cold-water surf photography in Tofino, British Columbia, and a renewed commitment to meaningful, honest storytelling. Her story is powerfully documented in the film Let Me Chase This Dream, and her work continues to inspire others through emotionally rich imagery that explores healing, perseverance, and the connection between humans and the natural world. This conversation explores creativity after trauma, the healing power of nature, documentary photography beyond journalism, and what it means to keep chasing the work that feels true.

episode Ep 13 - Rachael Galipo cover

Ep 13 - Rachael Galipo

Rachael Galipo is a photographer, model, and director whose work blends spirit, play, and deep human connection. Her creative journey has taken her across Chile’s rugged landscapes, into the canyons of Colombia documenting climbers forging new paths, and on 15 day road trips shooting tourism campaigns with crews she meets along the way. Her energy and enthusiasm shape every project she touches, making her a powerful presence both on and off set. Rachael moves fluidly between roles behind and in front of the camera. As a model, she has worked with brands such as Mobil 1, TNF, Visit Utah, and Pickler. As a photographer, she captures people, places, and stories with vulnerability and intention. She believes that shifting between roles in the industry gives her a deeper understanding of storytelling and keeps creativity fun. When she’s not on assignment, Rachael is outdoors or exploring passion projects. She often shoots with a large format film camera gifted by her uncle, reconnecting with the roots of the craft and the joy of slowing down. For her, photography is about process, presence, and connection. In this episode we explore creativity, identity, vulnerability, and the power of seeing the world from both sides of the lens.
