Andy's sobriety date is October 21, 2005 and his Home group is currently the same group that he joined when he first came in- the Morning After Group of Westwood, New Jersey, now both on Zoom and in person. AA saved Andy's life- He says that he can never give back to A.A. what’s been given to him but he can try one day at a time. As the result of the 12 Steps-being protected by god, at home with self, and connected to a community, Andy has moved from a taker to a giver- from a greedy soul towards having a servants heart. The journey has been generous- the job god has Andy doing is to engage another alcoholic in spiritual activity so he can live a useful life today.  Andy speaks to us on the topic of "A Room Without a Roof" Reco12 is an open-to-all addictions and afflictions organization, dedicated to exploring the common threads of the differing manifestations of alcoholism; sharing tools, and offering hope from those walking a similar path. We gather from diverse backgrounds, faiths, and locations to learn and support one another. This week, Reco12 continues with the "Ask-it Basket" project we started in July.  In this conversation, Justin B and Robert Pardon discuss several questions with principles of recovery at the root of them.  I recorded this one thinking that the episode recorded earlier with Whitney and Robert were lost in time, never to be heard by anyone but we three.  Gratefully, it survived, and now we have another episode with Robert.  We dive deep into questions that generally come from Robert and Whitney's work in treatment facilities.  Our primary purpose is fitting ourselves to be of maximum service to God and our fellows.   If you would like to connect with Robert, Justin, or Whitney, or if you would like to submit any questions for a future Ask-it Basket episode, please send an email to reco12pod@gmail.com. Anna B used to be sneaky but now I'm just crafty. I'm obsessed with the number 5, the color purple, & strict routines. I have much gratitude for regrigeration, indoor plumbing, & modern medicine. Trivia podcasts, jigsaw puzzles, Bananagrams, & library books are my favorite distractions. Dislikes include all things politics, computers, tags on clothing, & places with no shade. For laughs I play with other people's infants and toddlers. I live in Amherst, MA.
