The Gospel According to Jesus' Enemies - Week 5 - Easter Sunday
Sometimes it feels impossible to tell what is truly authentic and trustworthy these days. Who or what are we supposed to trust to help us make decisions? On this Easter Sunday, Pastor Jon looks at John 4 and Jesus's interaction with the woman at the well. As Jesus said to the woman, he has something for us we can't find elsewhere. He offers a loving and sustaining help that will meet us in all our struggles: the true healing of the gracious gift of Jesus's love and forgiveness.
The Gospel According to Jesus' Enemies - Week 4 - Family Drama
Love them or hate them, your family is one of the biggest influences on your entire life. In a challenging and important sermon, Pastor Jon takes a careful look at how the expectations of your family - especially around their reputation - can take over your identity, instead of finding your identity in Christ as a member of his kingdom first.
The Gospel According to Jesus' Enemies - Week 3 - Gospel of Real Rest
Everyone looks for meaning and purpose in their lives, but we don't all find it. Pastor Jon looks examines Acts 17 and Paul's message in idolatrous Athens to explore how we can be seduced by false gospels, and what the real Gospel of Jesus Christ says. Like the Athenians, need to repent and turn from the ideas of appeasement, comfort, and self-sufficiency, to find our purpose in our loving creator God and know true rest and peace. The Gospel According to Jesus' Enemies - Week 2 - Seeds of Satan
Sometimes, something that looks really attractive lures us in but turns out to be very bad for us. Pastor Jon looks at how pleasures that promise ungodly pleasure, attention, and illicit wisdom will distract us away from the truth of the Gospel that keeps us focused on Jesus. When we replace the true Gospel with self-gratification, we are headed for disaster; the good news is that when we repent and return to Christ, we find rescue and true satisfaction. Easter 2026: The Gospel According to Jesus' Enemies - Week 1 - Love Over Law
Are you good enough? Do you follow all the rules you feel will make you spiritual enough, holy enough, and Christian enough? To start the new Easter series, Pastor Angela looks at Jesus's teaching in Mark 2 and unpacks how the Pharisees of Jesus's time believed that they were holy because they followed the rules - and the rules about the rules - better than anyone else. But Jesus taught that we are incapable of meeting God's standards on our own, and that it is only by receiving Jesus's loving sacrifice that we can be righteous. We must stop performing, stop judging ourselves according to human standards, and instead draw closer to our saviour to be able to co-labour with him in this kingdom-building exercise.
