Episode 8: What Women Really Think About Sex Toys

Neeraja is back for an open and honest talk about sex toys where we talk about favorite toys with personal reviews. We first talk about glass dildos and then talk about vibrators, and compare the two. We then talked about masturbation, how we discovered pleasuring ourselves, and our feelings during our first time exploring our bodies. We talked about the shame and stigma surrounding sex we developed growing up in an Indian household. Neeraja tells a story of her first vibrator and the first sex toy she received from her boyfriend. I talk about my super strict and sheltered upbringing, and how many parents made me fear sex and what that impact had on my sexual exploration. Then I talked about how I tried to educate myself about sex, and how I then became addicted to erotica. We talk about how the Indian community is so small and there was no true outlet to ask questions about sex or have open, honest conversations. Then we speculate reasons why our parents and other Indian parents are so repressed and sex-negative and why sex is considered so taboo. We move on to talk about the reasons why some people are more sexual than others. We then talk about the negative effect masturbation has on intimacy.

During the marriage, she also faced the loss of her son, and we chat about the role of grief during sex, and how grief affects relationships. Finally, she shares tips to make sure this never happens to you, how to find the inner strength to persevere through trauma, and how to protect yourself from being taken advantage of.
