Today I talk briefly about propaganda, touching on Ancient Greek art (Doryphoros), royal portraiture and the strange art of death masks.

Today I am talking about Hockney Circus, the David Hockney artwork commissioned by the Mayor of London for Piccadilly Circus that caused an uproar on Twitter. I also talk briefly about Hockney’s recent ventures in to digital artwork.

Today I’m going to be talking to you about Frida Kahlo’s The Suicide of Dorothy Hale, and selected work by Frans Hals as mentioned in The Ways of Seeing by John Berger. We are talking about how, if at all, artists can separate themselves from the work that they make. For my hearing impaired friends, here is a list of work mentioned (in order): The Suicide of Dorothy Hale by Frida Kahlo, Regents of The Old Men’s Alms House & Regentesses of The Old Men’s Alms House both by Frans Hals, I’m Going to Sleep by Alfonsina Storni and I also talk about the work of Agnes Martin briefly at the end. Take care lads! Until next time! (PS apologies if you heard the version published a few minutes ago, I had some issues with the audio that should be fixed now)

I explain NFTs to you in as much detail is possible, I cover the environmental impacts and also the impact that this is having on the art world. Is the NFT market the new Dadaism? Absolutely not, because at least Dadaism had a sense of irony about how ludicrous it was. I also talk about how the rich and famous are profiting off of NFTs despite knowing how terrible the impact is. I’m a little bit ill and you can tell towards the end of this, apologies in advance, it shouldn’t affect your listening experience.

In this episode I chat to you about the newest Banksy that we know of, and the implications that it may have for the town. I then move on to talk about Banksy’s work overall, and turn to focus on the effect that anonymity has on how we may perceive an artist’s work. https://linktr.ee/Tiggychadwick use this link for socials, my shop, Patreon and my YouTube channel.
