Acerca de Beyond The Bedroom

Beyond The Bedroom™ goes far beyond emotional wellness. It is the space where women finally hear the truths our culture avoids—about our bodies, our hormones, our identity, our trauma, our pleasure, and our power. Host Jaclyn Huff, mother and survivor, brings courage and honesty to conversations on postpartum depression, perimenopause, sexual wellness, relationship dynamics, beauty pressures, and the hidden emotional labor women carry. We break the silence. We reclaim knowledge. We redefine womanhood on our own terms. New episodes weekly.

Opening the Year: What We Carry, What We Pass Down, and Where We’re Going

Welcome back to Beyond The Bedroom™. This episode marks the opening of 2026 — a pause, a reset, and a grounding moment before we continue our perimenopause conversation next week. In this episode, we widen the lens. We talk about what many people call trauma — not as a diagnosis or a dramatic event, but as unprocessed survival and carried life impact that shows up in our bodies, relationships, parenting, and health over time. This conversation explores: • stress and nervous system regulation • pregnancy, childbirth, and maternal care experiences • postpartum depression and emotional overwhelm • relationship stress and abuse — and how children absorb it • how early environments shape later patterns • why behavior is often communication, not defiance This is not a blame-based conversation. It’s about awareness, because awareness creates choice. As we move into 2026 — the Year of the Horse — this episode invites us to move forward with intention, honesty, and care. ✨ We’ll return to perimenopause and hormonal health in Episode Nine. ✨ This episode is a grounding reset for the year ahead. Take care of your body. Take care of your heart. And take care of the woman you’re becoming. — Jaclyn Host, Beyond The Bedroom™

Episode 7 — “Birth Trauma, Medical Racism, and the Fight for Black & Indigenous Mothers”

Birth should never feel like battle. Pain should never be ignored. And a woman in active labor should never have to prove she is in pain — but in America, she often does. In this urgent and deeply personal episode, Jaclyn exposes the harsh reality of medical racism, birth trauma, and the systemic biases that continue to endanger Black and Indigenous women at alarming rates. Triggered by a recent viral video of a Black mother left sitting in a chair while in active labor — only to deliver her baby twelve minutes later — Jaclyn opens a necessary conversation about the failures happening in delivery rooms across the country. This episode weaves together: • The story of Carrie Jones, forced to answer questions instead of being taken to a delivery room. • A heartbreaking YouTube comment from a woman denied pain relief because she “wasn’t married.” • The tragic death of Kira Johnson at Cedars-Sinai. • The cultural lie that Black women can “tolerate more pain.” • Jaclyn’s own traumatic delivery experience. • Her Aunt Bert’s story of being dismissed, judged, and placed on a mattress on the floor. • The generational trauma that childbirth neglect leaves inside families. • What EVERY woman needs to know about the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) — your legal right to emergency care. • How racism, bias, and medical gaslighting create deadly conditions. • And what needs to change NOW. Jaclyn speaks with tenderness and fire — as a mother, as a daughter, as a niece, and as a woman who refuses to stay silent. She ends with a message to every listener: 💜 If you were dismissed, ignored, or harmed during childbirth, you are not alone. Your story matters. And if you want to share it, Jaclyn wants to hear it. Next week, the show returns to the perimenopause series with Episode 8 — but today, this conversation can’t wait.

The Perimenopause Files: Hot Flashes, Night Sweats & Finding Yourself Again

The Perimenopause Files: Hot Flashes, Night Sweats & Finding Yourself Again This episode took me a minute to record — not because I didn’t want to talk about it, but because, chile… I was living it. From grocery aisle meltdowns to 2 a.m. night sweats, we’re unpacking the mystery, the madness, and the magic of perimenopause. I talk about my first real hot flash (yes, in public), what happened when I finally went to see my male OBGYN, and how wearing an HRT patch helped me start feeling like me again. We laugh, we learn, we talk hormones, body shifts, and the beauty of listening to your body with compassion — not shame. 💜 Because this isn’t the end — it’s the remix. 🎧 Listen now to Beyond The Bedroom™ — where healing begins when we finally speak the truth. #BeyondTheBedroomPodcast #PerimenopauseFiles #HRTJourney #HotFlashesAreReal #WomenOver40 #JaclynHuff #TraumaIntelligentHealing #ScienceMeetsSisterhood

The Things We Google at 2 A.M.

We’ve all been there: it’s late, you can’t sleep, and suddenly you’re 15 clicks deep into Dr. Google’s worst-case scenarios. From “Why is my period purple?” to “Can you die from holding in a fart?” — nothing is off-limits at 2 a.m. In this episode of Beyond the Bedroom™, Jaclyn dives into the hilarious, awkward, and sometimes heartbreaking questions women secretly Google in the dark. We’ll laugh at the ridiculous, tear up at the reality, and uncover what these late-night searches really say about women’s health. 💡 Why do we trust Google more than our doctors sometimes? 💡 What myths keep showing up in those search results? 💡 And how can we start asking these questions out loud without shame? ✨ Funny. Raw. Real. Because your body isn’t weird, the silence around it is. 🎧 Listen now on Spotify + Apple Podcasts.
