Acerca de Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel

Bible News Prophecy The Bible News Prophecy program broadcasts news and information in the light of the Bible and its prophecies. This includes proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and the gospel of the coming Kingdom of God to the world as a witness (Matthew 24:14), teaching all things that Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:19-20), providing prophetic warnings of God’s impending judgments, contending for the faith once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3), assisting in the calling of the full number of those to be reached before Jesus returns (Romans 11:25-26), explaining mysteries of God's merciful (James 2:13) and loving plan (e.g. Romans 16:25-27), helping people better understand the Bible (Acts 8:30-31, Romans 10:14-15), explaining God’s loving plan of salvation (Psalm 68:30, John 3:16-17, Luke 3:6, Romans 11), encouraging people to live the way of Philadelphian (Hebrews 13:1) and agape love (1 Corinthians 13), and calling for personal (Acts 2:38) and national repentance (2 Chronicles 7:13-15). The Bible News Prophecy program teaches the fact of God's existence, the fact of Jesus being Savior, and the certainty of biblical truths. The program discusses what the future holds for humanity in the light of Bible prophecy. The Bible News Prophecy program analyzes news and world events by the light of the word of God and also explains matters that will happen in the future, based on Bible prophecy. The Bible News Prophecy program is sponsored by the Continuing Church of God. Jesus said His true Church would be a "little flock" and be around until He returns The Continuing Church of God is a "little flock" that traces its history from the Book of Acts, throughout the ages, and into the 21st Century. We trace our unbroken history to the start of the New Testament church in the Book of Acts. We are a pacifist church that teaches original Christianity as taught and practiced by Jesus Christ, the original Apostles, their early faithful followers, and others faithful to original Christianity throughout history. We have supporters and congregations around the world. We have free literature online available in over 1500 languages at ccog.org. We have churches in multiple countries (see Congregations of the Continuing Church of God ) and over 10,000 congregants around the world. Our primary English speaking radio presenters for the Bible News Prophecy program on numerous AM/FM stations as well as shortwave stations are Steve Dupuie and Dr. Bob Thiel as well as James Martenet. The Bible News Prophecy program is also available online at biblenewsprophecy.net. Dr. Thiel has a Th.D. in early Christianity (more on him can be found in the article available at: https://www.cogwriter.com/cogwriter.htm). Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel Biblical Morality, Sexual Health, and the Consequences of Departing from God’s Laws Continuing Church Of God 47 Steve Dupuis Introduces the Bible News Prophecy Program In this episode of the Bible News Prophecy program, presented by the Continuing Church of God, host Steve Dupuis speaks with Dr. Bob Thiel about sexually transmitted infections and biblical morality. Steve opens by recalling the “make love, not war” slogan from the Vietnam War era and asks how that cultural shift has worked out. Dr. Thiel responds by pointing to increases in sexually transmitted infections, particularly gonorrhea and syphilis, and frames those increases as a consequence of societies departing from the laws of God and the Bible. Rising STI Rates and Public-Health Concerns Dr. Thiel references a recent BBC report based on data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, saying gonorrhea had increased sharply since 2015 and syphilis had more than doubled. He notes that these infections can cause serious complications, including chronic pain, infertility, heart problems, nervous-system problems, and, in some cases, blindness. He also says men who have sex with men remain disproportionately affected by gonorrhea and syphilis. Dr. Thiel uses these reports to argue that sexual conduct has health consequences. Exodus, Disease, and Obedience Dr. Thiel connects the topic to Exodus 15:26, where God promises not to place on Israel the diseases brought on Egypt if the people diligently obey Him, do what is right, and keep His commandments. He argues that sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea existed in ancient Egypt and that God’s promise suggests disease can be tied to sin and disobedience. In his view, if people followed biblical sexual morality, sexually transmitted infections would not spread through illicit sexual behavior. Gonorrhea, Syphilis, and Medical Complications The discussion then turns to how these infections can appear and what they can cause. Dr. Thiel says gonorrhea may have no symptoms, though burning during urination is one common sign, and he says untreated gonorrhea can lead to infertility, pelvic pain, and increased risk of HIV. He explains that syphilis may begin with sores in the genital, rectal, or oral area and can later progress into rashes, fever, hair loss, aches, weight loss, and serious damage involving the heart, blood vessels, and nervous system. He also notes that syphilis can lead to blindness. New Testament Warnings Against Sexual Immorality Dr. Thiel cites several New Testament passages to support his argument, including 1 Corinthians 6, where Paul warns against fornication, adultery, homosexuality, and sodomy, and says that sexual immorality is a sin against one’s own body. He also references 1 Corinthians 10, where Paul uses Israel’s sins as examples for later believers. Dr. Thiel says these biblical warnings should be taken seriously because, in his view, sexual immorality produces both spiritual and physical harm. Romans 1 and Conduct Against Nature Dr. Thiel also reads from Romans 1, where Paul describes people exchanging the truth of God for a lie and being given over to dishonorable passions. He applies this passage to same-sex sexual behavior and sexually transmitted infections, arguing that the “penalty” described by Paul can include physical consequences such as STIs. Because some of these passages are culturally controversial, Dr. Thiel emphasizes that he is reading from the Bible and presenting biblical teaching rather than modern social consensus. Marriage, Male and Female, and Jesus’ Teaching The program also discusses Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 19, where Jesus says that God made humans male and female and that a man shall leave father and mother and be joined to his wife. Dr. Thiel uses this passage to argue that sexual relations belong only within marriage between a man and a woman. He also cites Jesus’ warning in Matthew 5 that looking with lust is already adultery in the heart, saying believers should avoid even moving close to sexual sin. Biblical Morality as Prevention Dr. Thiel argues that the only certain way to avoid sexually transmitted infections is to avoid vaginal, anal, or oral sex outside of a faithful marriage between two people who have not had other sexual partners. He says that if a husband and wife have only been with each other, they do not need to fear contracting an STI through each other. He contrasts biblical love with lust and says that following God’s design leads to a healthier and more abundant life. Closing Message and Resources Steve Dupuis closes by thanking Dr. Bob Thiel and directing listeners to BibleNewsProphecy.net for more interviews, written material, and audio articles. The program ends with information about the Continuing Church of God, including its website, free literature, and email contact. The episode’s overall message is that sexual immorality, as defined by the hosts’ biblical interpretation, leads to spiritual and physical consequences, while biblical obedience offers protection and a path toward healthier living.

Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel Social Media Superglues People to Screens A study found that social media binds people to it so much, some have used the term superglue. The study found that four factors associated with the gambling industry and its slot machines, look to be involved in sticking/addicting people to social media.. The study said the four superglueing factors were 1) isolation, 2) bottomlessness, 3) speed, and 4) teasing, or giving you almost what you want. Those factors were found to create a kind of recipe for overuse for nearly everyone. Another study found that "social media algorithms are controlling how we communicate and interact." While there can be benefits from social media, excessive usage can make people unhappy and contribute to a variety of negative outcomes. Like slot machines and pornography, social media often promises to be satisfying, but often fails to deliver. Are there any Satanic connections as the devil is "the prince of the power of the air" (Ephesians 2:2)? What should children and adults to about social media? Steve Dupuie and Dr. Thiel discuss these important matters. Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel Continuing Church Of God 46 Artificial Intelligence, Digital Censorship, and the Coming Famine of the Word Bible News Prophecy Examines the Rise of Artificial Intelligence In this episode of the Bible News Prophecy program, presented by the Continuing Church of God, Steve introduces Dr. Bob Thiel for a discussion about artificial intelligence and biblical prophecy. Steve asks whether wars or AI are taking greater prominence in current concerns, then turns to a report about an AI coding assistant allegedly deleting a company’s database and backups after operating outside expected limits. Bob uses this incident as the starting point for a broader religious argument: that increasingly powerful artificial intelligence may eventually be used against the proclamation work of the Continuing Church of God. Concerns About AI Removing Church Content Bob discusses a reader’s question about whether AI systems, possibly influenced by demonic forces, could one day delete the church’s online materials and websites. He replies that he has long believed the Continuing Church of God will eventually face removal of its internet content through governmental action or related technological controls. Referring to the Beast, the False Prophet, and demonic spirits in Revelation 16, Bob argues that future authorities opposed to God’s work may use algorithms, censorship, or AI-supported systems to prevent the church from continuing its public proclamation. He connects this concern with Jesus’ statement that a time is coming when no one can work and with earlier teachings from Herbert W. Armstrong about the eventual end of the church’s ability to spread its message freely. Amos and a Future Famine of Hearing God’s Word A central part of Bob’s teaching focuses on Amos 8:11–12, which describes a coming famine not of food or water, but of hearing the words of the Lord. Bob says he does not interpret this as the disappearance of printed Bibles. Instead, because the prophecy describes people searching widely without finding God’s word, he argues that it points toward future internet censorship or removal of religious proclamation in the twenty-first century. He says the church has already experienced preliminary forms of restriction through YouTube limitations and what he describes as shadow banning by Google. Before that fuller restriction arrives, he says, the gospel of the Kingdom must first be proclaimed worldwide in fulfillment of Matthew 24:14. Revelation 13, Surveillance, and the 666 System Bob then links artificial intelligence with the Beast power described in Revelation 13. He reads the passage concerning an image of the Beast, the killing of those who will not worship it, and controls preventing people from buying or selling without the mark, name, or number of the Beast. In Bob’s interpretation, such worldwide economic and religious enforcement implies a level of surveillance and monitoring that modern computing and artificial intelligence could make possible. He identifies the coming power with Europe and refers to early Christian commentary that he believes connects the number 666 with a Latin or European figure. Bob argues that technologies unavailable when Revelation was written now make its predicted control system increasingly plausible. Cyber Warfare, Perplexity, and Prophetic Watchfulness Bob also refers to Ezekiel 7:14, interpreting its description of people prepared for battle who do not physically go out to fight as potentially consistent with cyber warfare. He acknowledges that AI can provide useful research benefits, but warns that technology is likely to be used for harmful purposes, including persecution and social control. Turning to Luke 21:25, he notes Jesus’ reference to nations being in distress and perplexity, then makes a light observation that one AI research program he uses is itself called Perplexity. He additionally names AI systems and international AI development efforts as reasons believers should remain alert and watchful about technological change. AI Will Not Ultimately Destroy Humanity In the final portion, Bob maintains that artificial intelligence will likely play a role in fulfilling what he understands as end-time biblical prophecies, especially those concerning censorship, economic control, persecution, and the Beast system. However, he says he does not believe AI itself will ultimately destroy humanity, because in his reading of Matthew 24:21–22, Jesus will return before human life can be completely eliminated. Steve closes the program by directing listeners to the Bible News Prophecy and Continuing Church of God websites for additional interviews, written materials, audio content, and free literature.

Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel, The Glory of the Latter Temple Haggai 2 and the Temple of God. The Temple Institute quoted Haggai 2:9 in a May 2026 newsletter--is that related to a 'third' temple or really the second? Did Zerubbabel help build a temple that was greater in glory than the temple Solomon built? Were all the verses in Haggai 2:2-9 fulfilled? When did God shake the heaven and earth, the sea and dry land, as in verse 6? Is the glory of the latter temple greater than the glory of the first, as in the beginning of verse 9? Has the Lord of Hosts yet given peace in the place of the latter temple as in the end of verse 9? Did all the nations come to the Desire of All Nations, as in verse 7? Would you like to be part of the work being done by the temple of God, whose temple you are if you are a real Christian? What is that work? Are there parallels today related to the second temple and the work of the Philadelphian remnant of the Church of God? The time is short. The final phase of the work is being supported right now by a small number of those called by God. Don’t despise small things. Watch this video as Dr. Thiel shines the light of Biblical truth on the “Glory of the Latter Day Temple of Haggai 2” and discusses some of the highlights of the work being done right now by Zerubbabel. Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel Continuing Church Of God 45 Scripture, Tradition, and the Warning Against Adding to God’s Word Introducing the Debate Over Scripture and Tradition In this episode of Bible News Prophecy, Steve Dupuie introduces Dr. Bob Thiel for a discussion about whether “traditions of men” are still being added to the Bible as doctrine. The conversation begins with comments attributed to Pope Leo XIV about the relationship between sacred scripture and sacred tradition, including the Catholic claim that scripture and tradition are closely linked and contribute to the salvation of souls. Dr. Thiel challenges that idea immediately, arguing that the phrase “sacred tradition” is not found in the Bible and that Scripture repeatedly warns against adding to or taking away from God’s Word. Warnings Against Adding to Scripture Dr. Thiel cites passages from Deuteronomy, Proverbs, and Revelation to argue that God’s people are not permitted to add to divine revelation. He emphasizes Revelation 22, where warnings are given against adding to or taking away from the words of prophecy. From his perspective, religious groups that elevate additional writings, church traditions, or later doctrinal developments risk putting human authority above the Word of God. He also briefly mentions other groups, including Latter-day Saints, Seventh-day Adventists, Protestants, and Messianic Jews, as examples of communities he believes may accept later traditions or teachings in ways that compete with Scripture. Challenging Catholic Claims About Tradition The discussion then focuses more directly on Roman Catholic teaching. Dr. Thiel references the Catholic view that holy tradition transmits the Word of God entrusted to the apostles, but he argues that Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Protestant, and other traditions often accept later developments that were not part of the original apostolic teaching. He rejects the idea that tradition can stand on equal authority with Scripture. For Dr. Thiel, the proper Christian position is that the Bible alone must be the final authority for doctrine, correction, salvation, and righteous instruction. Paul’s Warnings About Tradition and False Teachers Dr. Thiel uses Paul’s letters to support his position, especially 2 Timothy 3, where Scripture is described as able to make a person wise for salvation and thoroughly equip the servant of God for every good work. He argues that Paul points believers to Scripture, not tradition, as the source of doctrine and spiritual completeness. He also references Colossians 2:8, where Paul warns against philosophy and empty deceit according to human tradition, and 2 Corinthians 11, where Paul warns about false apostles and deceitful workers. Dr. Thiel concludes that Christians must be alert to teachings that appear religious but are not grounded in the Bible. Jesus, the Pharisees, and Traditions of Men A major section of the episode centers on Jesus’ confrontation with the Pharisees in Matthew 15 and Mark 7. Dr. Thiel explains that Jesus criticized the religious leaders for elevating the tradition of the elders in a way that made God’s commandments ineffective. He also quotes Jesus’ statement that people can honor God with their lips while their hearts remain far from Him, teaching human commandments as doctrine. Dr. Thiel connects this back to Isaiah 29 and argues that both the Old and New Testaments warn against replacing God’s commands with religious customs, even when those customs are old or widely accepted. Scripture as the Final Measure of Truth The episode closes with Dr. Thiel emphasizing that doctrine should be built line upon line from Scripture, not from tradition layered upon tradition. He refers to Melito of Sardis as an early figure who warned against blindly following inherited customs when those customs are wrong. Dr. Thiel concludes that traditions may have historical interest, but they must always be judged by the Bible and never placed beside or above it as equal authority. Steve Dupuie then closes the program by directing listeners to Bible News Prophecy and the Continuing Church of God for additional materials.
