Chiseled | Built By Jesus | Pastor Eric Fretz

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Sermon: Chiseled by the Spirit Scripture: Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:14  “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬ “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬ “Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd..." ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Jesus never told the church to be clever enough, strong enough, or persuasive enough. He told us to wait for power, because the mission ahead would require more than human ability. Movements start with movement: * Pentecost turns weakness into boldness. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬ * Peter preaches with clarity and conviction. “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬ * God uses Peter to build the church. “Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭41‬ ‭NIV‬‬ God does not only heal us for private comfort; He builds us for public usefulness and kingdom impact. ★ Support this podcast ★ [https://bridgechurch.tv/give/]

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Luke 22:54-62; John 21:15 “Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance. And when some there had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat down with them. A servant girl saw him seated there in the firelight. She looked closely at him and said, “This man was with him.” But he denied it. “Woman, I don’t know him,” he said. A little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” “Man, I am not!” Peter replied. About an hour later another asserted, “Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean.” Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.” ‭‭Luke 22:54-62 “When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭21‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Failure is not final.  Movements start with movement: * Peter overestimates his strength. Peter replied, "Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death."  Luke 22:33 * Fear exposes what confidence cannot cover. The seizing him (Jesus), they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance. Luke 22:54 * Peter weeps, but does not disappear. And he went outside and wept bitterly. Luke 22:62 * Jesus restores Peter with love and commission. “When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭21‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Shame says, “You are finished.” Jesus says, “Come back, and let Me rebuild you.” ★ Support this podcast ★ [https://bridgechurch.tv/give/]

Chiseled | Chiseled by Correction | Pastor Eric Fretz

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Chiseled by Correction Text: Matthew 16:22-23 “Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”” ‭‭ God builds people not only through affirmation, but through loving correction.  God's correction is a blessing that leads to abundant life.  Movements start with movement... * Peter gets revelation, but still lacks maturity. Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." -Matthew 16:16 * Jesus corrects Peter’s thinking. Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”” Matthew 16:23 * Peter wants Jesus without the cross. “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭24‬ ‭NIV‬‬ * God’s building process includes confrontation. “Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭15‬:‭32‬ ‭NIV‬‬  If we want to move higher with Jesus, we must learn to recieve correction. --Matthew 17:1 ★ Support this podcast ★ [https://bridgechurch.tv/give/]

Family Ties | Covenant Love | Pastor Eric Fretz

Matthew 19:4-6 NIV ““Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV EQUATION: Half Hearted Effort + Half Hearted Commitment = Whole Hearted Disappointment. Lie #3: Marriage is a contract... "Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” -Matthew 19:6b What is a contract? A contract is a legal agreement that outlines the conditions and terms between two parties. If the terms are not fulfilled the contract can be broken. What is a covenant marriage? A coventant marriage is a sacred agreement between a man, woman, and God. It's not conditional on the actions of the other but is a lifelong commitment.  Lie #4: There is no hope for my marriage... With God all things are possible. -Matthew 19:26 “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬ What is hope?  Biblical hope is a profound confident expectation rooted in faith and trust in God's character and promises, transcending ordinary circumstances.  Jesus is our hope!  ★ Support this podcast ★ [https://bridgechurch.tv/give/]

Family Ties | Strengthening the Marriage Bond | Pastor Eric Fretz

Genesis 2:24-25; Matthew 19:4-6 “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭NIV‬‬ ““Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Everytime you believe a lie you empower the liar.  Four lies that weaken marriage: Lie #1: I Can Change Him/Her...  "Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame." -Genesis 2:25 Lie #2: A good marriage is always 50/50...Archie “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭25‬ ‭ESV‬‬ EQUATION: Half Hearted Effort + Half Hearted Commitment = Whole Hearted Disappointment. Lie #3: Marriage is a contract... "Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” -Matthew 19:6b Lie #4: There is no hope for my marriage... With God all things are possible. -Matthew 19:26  We must learn to identify the lie and replace it with the truth! If a lie can destroy your marriage than truth can transform your marriage. ★ Support this podcast ★ [https://bridgechurch.tv/give/]
