Acerca de Cradle My Heart

Cradle My Heart Radio is a weekly opportunity to connect with others in light of God’s Word, as together we are finding God’s love–especially during unintended pregnancy and after abortion.Kim Ketola's faith and life experience unveil the spiritual impact of abortion on the women and men who choose it—as well as the hope available to make a better choice. My story and voice have been featured on many national radio and television outlets, I was inducted into the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2013 for my work while known as Kim Jeffries (KS95, WCCO Radio and TV, and KTIS).My book Cradle My Heart, Finding God’s Love After Abortion won First Place at the 2010 Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference, is an Amazon #1 bestseller, and was a Finalist for the Evangelical Christian Press Association’s Book of the Year in 2013, and features a Foreword by Ruth Graham. I believe these awards reflect how redemption in our Lord Jesus Christ resonates in readers’ hearts–using our worst, even fatal mistakes for his greatest glory.

A way forward on abortion after Dobbs - Charlie Camosy

Did the overturn of Roe v Wade make the US more likely to make legal abortion the law of the land?  Charlie Camosy proposes a way forward to prevent that happening. His article, A post-Dobbs way forward on abortion is becoming clear [https://angelusnews.com/voices/post-dobbs-abortion-way-forward/], reviews policies supporting women and families as the most essential and effective path to ending the need for abortion today. From his bio [https://www.charlescamosy.com/]: Charlie Camosy is professor of Medical Humanities at the Creighton University School of Medicine. In addition, he holds the Monsignor Curran Fellowship in Moral Theology at St. Joseph Seminary in New York. Teen abortion happening behind parents' backs

Marc Lucas joins us this week to talk about preventing abortion in the face of teen pregnancy. Many parents are not aware that even in places where parental consent is required, any teen can obtain an abortion without their parent ever knowing it has happened. We discussed the scenario presented in the foreign film Memoir of a Veering Storm [https://www.newyorker.com/culture/screening-room/an-abortion-hidden-from-parental-view-in-memoir-of-a-veering-storm]. And we present ideas for avoiding that storm. Surprisingly, the American Association of Pediatrics [https://publications.aap.org/pediatrics/article/139/2/e20163861/59961/The-Adolescent-s-Right-to-Confidential-Care-When?autologincheck=redirected] does not advocate for mandatory parental involvement. Church resources include ministries like Embrace Grace [https://embracegrace.com/?gclid=CjwKCAiA3pugBhAwEiwAWFzwdcx_oGxu_Qd2AOWexmAlRB9w1FMuDo2jDP2tdFW9CiORSO5QJn1INBoCaR4QAvD_BwE] and Pro-Grace [https://www.prograce.org/]. Lucas also referenced the He Gets Us [https://hegetsus.com/en] campaign to model Christ-like care for life's most difficult issues. From Marc’s bio [https://marcrlucas.com/]: Marc Lucas has served as a pastor for a combined 15 years with two mega-churches in the Valley: Sun Valley Community Church and Highlands Church. He’s an alumni of Arizona Christian University with a degree in Biblical Studies. He is currently the Local Ministry Director at Faith Talk 1360. He has been married to his wife Tammy, for 16 years and they have 3 beautiful kids Kaylen 14, Kenzie 10 and Karson 6. Priscilla Coleman Pt 2 - Researching abortion truth

Dr. Priscilla Coleman is an academic and expert voice whose credits include over sixty peer-reviewed journal entries [https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=S--K9lkAAAAJ&hl=en]. According to Coleman, “The truth comes through the data. . . We do know that abortion is detrimental to a very high percentage of women. And it’s not a healthy choice as the mainstream pitches it.” The study of the psychological impact of abortion on women dates back to the days prior to Roe v Wade and legalization. Mining the sparse early studies created a drive in Coleman to learn more. She notes that by 2008 a proliferation of studies confirmed abortion significantly increases mental health risks to women. We also discuss the climate of suppression and censorship of her research. Although she does not work in the faith-based realm, Dr. Coleman is a believer in Jesus Christ.  She says, “I feel supported by God, and I feel supported by truth and by the science.” Dr. Coleman is slates as a Keynote Speaker at the upcoming healthcare conference titles, The Clinical Impact of Reproductive Choice in North Dakota in April, 2023. Chuck Foreman Part 2 Abortion- What then shall we do?

Is activism the answer to abortion? Can slogans ever change hearts and minds? Given that more than 60 million lives have been lost to abortion in the US under Roe v Wade, what is the church now called to do in their communities? Leading with love is a primary responsibility, according to Pastor Foreman, along with the duty to seek to understand the question beyond the political noise and rhetoric. He says, "What I'm doing now is not political. Let's think critically...talk intelligently... and bathe it in a a loving spirit." Abortion may be a policy debate taking place in Washington DC, but abortion is happening in our neighborhoods. The local church is uniquely positioned to meet the challenge of preventing abortion as well as the restoration of those who have experienced it. From his bio: Chuck Foreman and his wife, Kathy, served as missionaries in Taiwan for twenty years and were also field coordinators for East Asia with Team Expansion. They have four children and two grandchildren. Chuck and Kathy live in Phoenix, Arizona, where Chuck is the teaching and missions pastor for First Christian Church [https://www.faithstreet.com/church/first-christian-church-of-phoenix-phoenix-az], a church recognized for its leadership in modeling what it means to humbly serve its community. He is the author of The Deadliest Sin, A Penetrating Look at the Poison of Pride in a Leader.
