Ep. 8 Redefining Identity and Purpose in a Season of Caregiving

In this episode, I talk honestly about how our identity can slowly become wrapped up in caregiving when you are parenting a child with disabilities. I wrestle with the question many of us quietly ask: Who would I be if my life looked different? and, more importantly, Who does God say I am right now? We look at Scripture, including John 3:1 and Galatians 4:7, to ground our identity as children of God-not defined by roles, productivity, or survival mode. I share my own story of feeling a call to ministry long before becoming a mom, and how that calling didn’t disappear after diagnosis, even when it felt buried under advocacy, exhaustion, and constant need. I also talk candidly about what self-care really looks like as a special needs parent, the reality of burnout, and why practices like Sabbath can feel almost impossible. As a new year approaches and resolutions are everywhere, we explore redefining productivity and purpose in this season, especially when you are constantly pouring out and rarely poured into. We close by reflecting on the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10, and what Jesus’ words reveal about presence, worth, and choosing what is better-without guilt or shame. This episode is for the parent who feels lost, tired, and unsure of who they are beyond caregiving, and needs a reminder that God still sees them, calls them, and loves them deeply.

Ep. 7 Hope Was Born Here: Finding Joy in an Unconventional Christmas

Christmas doesn’t always look the way we imagined it would - especially when you’re parenting a child with autism. In this Christmas episode, we talk honestly about what the season looks like in our home. Our son Timmy doesn’t sit quietly by the tree opening presents - he’s usually running laps through the house instead. And while it can be tempting to compare our Christmas to others, comparison is quick to steal joy if we let it. Together, we turn our hearts back to the true meaning of Christmas. Scripture reminds us that hope was born in Bethlehem with the birth of Jesus. As we read from Isaiah 9:6 and John 1:9, we’re reminded that Christmas isn’t about perfection - it’s about the Light entering a dark world. Jesus was born in an unconventional way - with no room at the inn (Luke 2:7). And in many ways, that mirrors the unconventional Christmas experiences we have as special-needs parents. We also reflect on the gift of the Holy Spirit, our helper and companion through the hard days (John 14:15–17), and how we can find joy right where we are - not in the version of Christmas we wish we had, but in the one God has placed us in. If your Christmas looks different this year, you’re not alone. Hope was born here - and He meets us exactly where we are.

Ep.6 When Healing Delays: Trusting Jesus in the ‘Not Yet’

In this episode, I open my heart about the tension many special-needs moms feel: we know God can heal-Scripture tells us He does-but what do we do when He hasn’t healed our child? We walk through the story in Mark 5, where the woman with the issue of blood reaches for the hem of Jesus’ garment, believing completely in His power to heal. And we remember the promise in Hebrews that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever-His compassion and power haven’t changed. But the reality of disability can make that truth hard to hold. I talk honestly about the wrestle between faith and disappointment, between what we believe God can do and what we see in front of us. And yet-there is hope. There is healing in heaven. There is eternity with no pain, no limitations, no struggle. Whether healing happens on earth or in eternity, God promises restoration. And that promise can anchor us today. This episode is for the mom who believes… but aches. For the mom who trusts… but longs for more. For the mom who needs the reminder that heaven is real, healing is real, and Jesus is still near.

Ep.5 Parenting Through Anxiety:

In this episode, I open up about my lifelong struggle with anxiety - how it intensified when I became a mom, and how it grew even heavier as I learned to navigate parenting an autistic child. The fears, the “what ifs,” the sleepless nights. they can feel overwhelming and isolating. But this is also a story of hope. I share how God has met me in the moments when my chest is tight and my thoughts are racing, and how He has shown me again and again that He is with us today and already ahead of us in tomorrow. Even when the path feels uncertain, He is gently making a way for our families, our children, and our hearts. If you’ve ever felt consumed by worry, or wondered how to trust God with the future of your child, this conversation is for you. You are not walking this journey alone - and you are held by a God who goes before you.
