Safety, sustenance and comfort choices are significantly different when a child is involved.  Alex's recent accident starts a hilarious discussion on how our decisions differ when considering your child's needs. How much does your child need to know about your financial situation? Should they get a choice on eating leftovers? Seeing yourself in your kids, growing out of shoes and teaching kids to backup their arguments are discussed before our "Daddy Did That" segment finds Markus with a phone dilemma and Alex's musical tastes influencing his daughter. But is that a good thing?

Markus and Alex break down the four parenting styles and figure out where their styles fit best while telling hilarious stories of their failures as fathers and the beauty in seeing your kids struggle. Also, "Daddy Did That" finds the guys making their kids smile but for wildly different reasons.

S1E5: Trunk or Treat?

We forgo the usual show structure to compare and contrast our Halloween experiences to our kids' Halloween experiences. We took more candy than we should have when told "take one." Do we allow our kids to take more than one? We kept and ate all the candy. Is it the same for our offspring? We stayed up late on Halloween night. Is it the same now? All of that and much more, including a "Daddy Did That" segment with Markus rethinking his costume policy and how Alex succeeded in finding the perfect costume for his daughter.

On today's show, we dissect a list from parenting.com of 10 phrases you should NOT say to your kids. Naturally, we've said them. Do we agree with the adverse effects suggested in the article?
