Welcome to Divided: Family Secrets, a podcast that explores family secrets and unexpected DNA discoveries. I'm your host, Andrew Abney. In August of 2020, my life took a dramatic turn. I was confronted by a stranger claiming to be my biological sibling. I wasn't totally surprised because I knew the man who I thought was my biological had other children. The surprise came when I found out through DNA that the man who I thought was my biological father wasn't. Join me as I take you through my story and the stories of others who were caught off guard by family secrets and the effects it had on them. For me I was misled by my mother about the identity of my biological father for more than fifty years. As I uncovered the truth, it only led to more secrets being exposed. In this podcast you're not a listener, but a witness to the personal journey of someone who has chosen to peel back the layers of their life and offer a raw, unvarnished view of their world. This is a journey to salvation, redemption and freedom.
