Far right extremists, white supremacist's and the proud boys have been targeting the LGBTQ+ community for a long time and lately the focus has been on the drag community. So much happens in this country, sometimes it feels overwhelming and hard to keep up. I completely understand that, but at the same time feel some responsibility to bring up important issues and hopefully have a positive effect on our community. UpRising Bakery Cafe, LGBTQ+ owned and operated, has been under attack. Proud boys and Trumpsters have been showing up and protesting violently because the café hosts family friendly drag brunches. As hard as it is to hear stories like this one, it's a true testament to all of us putting in the work to change the script that society has built. Towards the end of the show, Anita goes through a list of LGBTQ+ artists and activists who did just this. Because of all the work they put in, and we continue to put in, we are seeing progression in our society.
