Acerca de Leaving the Left for Liberty

What motivates a person to muster up courage in a time when it’s quite controversial to step out as an individual? And how many of us are there? Sienna Mae Heath has a plan to find out. In Free the People’s new series, Leaving the Left for Liberty, Sienna talks with whistleblowers, dissidents, and other alternative voices in the Western world who have left the culture of the political Left for more creative freedom, professional freedom, and personal freedom. The video version of this podcast is available on YouTube @freethepeople.

Why I Re-Planted Outside Louisville with My Family | Filmmaker Kenneth Stevenson | Ep 37

Kenneth Stevenson is a filmmaker illustrating stories centered on bodily autonomy, the virtue of suffering, self-governance, diversity of thought, voluntaryism, and the struggle of displaced transcendentalists. He frequently draws inspiration from punk / y’alternative rock music and Libertarianism to express his frustrations with centralized power and oppressive ideologies. During Part 3 of 3, Kenneth opens up about the murder that happened on his street in Louisville, Kentucky, its effects on his immediate family, and the perspective gained from hearing the opinions of the neighbors and the police. Kenneth and host, Sienna Mae Heath, explore the nature of the liberty conscience, worries about loved ones’ ideological capture, and discerning what are the real or biggest threats while entertaining conspiracy theories. Rooted in free will, liberty is beautiful and yet cursed with its price: eternal vigilance. Americans owe it to each other to shoulder the burden of vigilance so that there is headspace for one to live in the present moment. Running a Film Company in this Authoritarian Moment | Kenneth Stevenson | Ep 36

Kenneth Stevenson has worked for Time Warner and SONY. He has won film festival awards and even a scholarship from David Letterman. A dual entrepreneur and artist at heart, Kenneth co-founded Digital Alliance in 2015 to serve nonprofits and brands with their video marketing. In 2021 he won a scholarship from the Ron Paul Institute for Peace & Prosperity. During Part 2 of 3, Kenneth and Sienna Mae Heath discuss whether unity is seen in the natural world, the creation of art in joy and fear, and the people-pleasing done in the advertising industry in an attempt to attract a wider audience. We also talk about Kenneth’s first feature film, Cheery Point, the story of a totalitarian medical state enforced on a small town, and how joyful the awakening process can be. _______ Follow Sienna Mae Heath on Instagram @sovereign_sienna, Facebook @ sienna.m.heath, or at https://siennamaeheath.substack.com [https://siennamaeheath.substack.com] Real Unity film https://freethepeople.org/real-unity [https://freethepeople.org/real-unity/] The Trampled Woman https://freethepeople.org/the-trampled-woman/ [https://freethepeople.org/the-trampled-woman/]  (poem produced during the Defeat the Mandates/Freedom Convoy era)

Gazing Into The Abyss: Uncomfortable Truths & The Woke Reformation | Travis Brown | Ep. 33

Travis Brown is an independent filmmaker living in the Pacific Northwest. He is the president of The Signal Education Project, which is a non-profit that creates engaging content that shines a light on how dogma and tribalism distort the truth. Since leaving his religious faith behind, he has been interested in how religious and political ideology shape our view of reality, how ideology affects our conversations and what it does to relationships and society as a whole. His previous work includes The Woke Reformation, which features Peter Boghossian, Douglas Murray, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Vivek Ramaswamy and many other brave intellectuals. He is currently exploring the difficult topic of gender identity in his upcoming docuseries Uncomfortable Truths: The Reality of Gender Identity Ideology. In this episode Travis and Sienna discuss the problems with the paradigm of good vs. evil and what makes a mindset inherently totalitarian. We also explore his journey from Christianity to atheism, pseudo-sacred texts that deem some of our fellow people as possessors of original sin, and attempts to avoid self-righteousness no matter what beliefs you hold - reflecting on the famed Friedrich Nietzsche (Nee-Chuh) quote: “He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.” You can find Travis' work at https://www.youtube.com/becomethesignal [https://www.youtube.com/becomethesignal]
