The Ultimate Springtime Fling Checklist: 8 Tips to Refresh Your Marriage Heading into the Summer Season

The holidays have passed, the new year routines have settled in, Valentine's Day is a distant memory and it's easy for love and romance to fall into a routine and the monotony of daily life resumes. This can lead to marital drift, and your marriage can lead to the roommate syndrome. This is why in March we did a series called "Have a Spring Fling with Your Spouse". Because as spring approaches it is a great opportunity to add spark to your marriage. As springtime is winding down and heading into summertime, in this episode we are going to review a checklist drawn from our recent newsletters and podcasts, for a few of the spring fling actions you may have taken in your marriage. As we transition from the routines of daily life into the vibrant energy of summer; our discussion presents eight essential tips aimed at fostering intimacy and connection. Drawing upon our extensive experience and Christian principles, we emphasize the importance of intentionality in nurturing love and affection, thereby preventing the drift into mere cohabitation. This episode serves as a practical checklist to assess and enhance the romantic dynamics within your marriage, encouraging both partners to engage actively in creating a loving atmosphere. Takeaways: * The importance of intentional communication in marriage cannot be overstated, as it fosters deeper emotional connections and understanding between partners. * Engaging in spontaneous acts of kindness and love serves to rejuvenate the romance in a long-term relationship, breaking the monotony of daily routines. * Practicing regular expressions of affection, such as the ten-second kiss, significantly enhances emotional intimacy and strengthens the marital bond. * Incorporating small, thoughtful surprises into everyday life can reignite the spark in a marriage, nurturing a sense of excitement and adventure between spouses. * Consistent prayer for one another, both individually and together, is vital for nurturing a spiritually connected marriage and fosters a supportive partnership. * Understanding and practicing kindness in all interactions with one's spouse promotes a loving atmosphere, encouraging patience and forgiveness during challenging times. www.marriedandloveit.com/12 "The Power of the Kiss" www.marriedandloveit.com/15 (EP 15-18) "Having a Lifestyle of Romance and Passion" www.marriedandloveit.com/64 "Dressing for Success in Your Marriage; What NOT to Wear" www.marriedandloveit.com/65 "Dressing for Success in Your Marriage; What TO Wear" www.marriedandloveit.com/2 "The God Factor; Putting Your Marriage in God's Hands" Use this link for email sign up: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/LFxOu11 Website: www.marriedandloveit.com E-mail address is marriedandloveit1977@gmail.com phone 984-270-6062

EP 65. Dressing For Success in Your Marriage PT 2; What TO Wear

It's about who you are and act around and towards your spouse. The latest installment of the Married and Love It podcast delves into the intricate subject of dressing for success within the context of marriage, a theme that encompasses not only the physical attire one chooses to wear but also the metaphorical garments that reflect one’s character and attitude. Greg and Linda Smith, the hosts, draw upon their extensive experience from over four decades of marriage and ministry to underscore the significance of both external appearances and internal dispositions. They articulate that while outer clothing can influence perceptions and interactions, it is the inner clothing—qualities such as kindness, patience, and forgiveness—that truly shape the dynamics of a marital relationship. By exploring the concept of 'dressing for success,' they invite listeners to consider how their personal attributes and behaviors contribute to the overall atmosphere and health of their marriage. Moreover, they emphasize the importance of intentionality in adopting these positive traits, suggesting that just as one carefully selects an outfit for the day, one must also consciously choose to embody virtues that enhance marital harmony. Takeaways: * Investing time in one's marriage is paramount, as it fosters a deeper understanding and connection between partners. * The concept of 'dressing for success' applies equally to one's internal disposition as it does to external appearance, emphasizing character and behavior. * Embracing kindness and compassion towards one's spouse creates a nurturing environment that significantly enhances marital satisfaction. * Forgiveness and humility are essential components of a healthy marriage, allowing both partners to grow and flourish together. EP 64. Dressing for Success in Your Marriage PT 1; What NOT to Wear

It's about who you are and how you act around and towards your spouse. This episode delves deeply into the metaphor of dressing for success within marriage, a concept that transcends mere clothing choices to encompass the very essence of how partners present themselves to one another. Greg and Linda Smith articulate the profound impact that both outward appearances and internal dispositions have on the dynamics of a marital relationship. They reflect on their own experiences, illustrating how the initial excitement of dating can often fade into complacency, leading couples to neglect the importance of maintaining a vibrant and appealing presence for one another. The conversation transitions from discussing external dress to the internal qualities that couples should strive to embody—attributes such as kindness, patience, and attentiveness. The hosts encourage listeners to engage in self-assessment and to communicate openly with their spouses about their desires and perceptions regarding each other's appearances and behaviors. By intertwining scriptural references with practical advice, they provide a holistic approach to nurturing a marriage that thrives on mutual respect and love. The episode concludes with a challenge for couples to reflect on their internal and external presentations, pushing them towards intentional actions that can rejuvenate their relationships and enhance their marital satisfaction. This enriching dialogue offers valuable insights into the conscious efforts needed to sustain love and connection in marriage.
