Acerca de Owning Life with Jokotifa

I’m Jokotifa Alaye (also a Karen!) and host of Owning Life - a podcast about embracing the beginning, the end, and the messy middle of our time on Earth. I’m so grateful you're here! I started this podcast in November of 2024 as an olive branch to my community - Gen X moms doing their best to raise good kids, connect with their ancestors, and break generational trauma...all while working that 9-5! I share what I have learned from indigenous wisdom, working in death care, and by owning my own journey from awkward kid to married mom, just trying to find my place...

The ONE thing you need to live a life of purpose!

Happy Spring! This has been a super prolific couple weeks for me and I am excited to share some of the highlights!Spend 12 minutes of your commute with me as I say thank you to everyone that has enjoyed my guided meditation, then share some thoughts about legacy. Have you ever heard the saying "If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable?" Well - it's time to find your port! One of the most important things I have learned in my work is that, at the end of the day, it's what we have done that continues to live on. How do you align what you are doing today with how you want to be remembered tomorrow? Let's talk about it!In this episode of Owning Life, Joko discusses the importance of defining one's legacy and the impact of creativity on personal growth. She emphasizes the need to align actions with desired outcomes and encourages listeners to embrace their creativity while being mindful of their legacy. Joko also highlights the significance of community support and invites listeners to participate in building a supportive environment for mothers. The conversation concludes with a call to action for listeners to reflect on their legacy and take steps towards achieving their goals.Welcome to Owning Life!Click the Subscribe button to join in community!–Order My Workbook: Fire Under the Night Sky: https://tinyurl.com/3vpk39j2_Visit my websitewww.mourningspace.com–Follow me on Social Media:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jokotifaalaye/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jokotifaalaye/Bluesky: @jokotifaalaye.bsky.socialAll information provided in this podcast by the Mourning Space, LLC (collectively, the “Mourning Space”), is solely educational and is not to be construed as advice or information related to medical advice, assisted death or dying services, therapy, medical services, clinical medical services, clinical medical advice, mental health medical advice, financial advice, legal advice or similar advice.
