38 - Balance all things…

From subatomic and atomic levels, to human choices, actions, behaviors, and interactions (yours and mine included), to our families and organizations…to the universe as a whole—nothing stands still. What can 69.66 days do for…you? First, here's the formula: P = P 0 X (1.01) d "P" stands for your Performance "P 0 " equals your performance on "Day 0" (your starting point) "1.01" represents an increase in performance of 1 percent " d " represents the number of days. Got it? (GREAT!) ��If not, you're likely asking, "What the x@#! does it all mean, Bazzle?" Doing simple math, "(1.01) 69.66 days " = 100. WHICH MEANS—when you simply get better at [whatever it is] by just 1% per day, you DOUBLE your abilities/performance in just 69.66 days! Your biggest obstacle to doing so? 36 - Without Trust you have…NOTHING.

Are you trustworthy? (Can YOU be trusted?) Are you trustful? (Do you trust OTHERS?) Interestingly, though we don't hear about it much, you must trust others BEFORE they'll trust you. As Lao Tzu enlightened us MANY years ago, "He who does not trust enough will not be trusted." Trust forms the hub of the 7 Natural Principles. Without it, none of the other Principles are worth a flip. This is true at work. At home. In every relationship and interaction. In this episode of the PRINCIPLES Podcast, Suzette and I talk about the spectrum of Trust—from the basis for 'trustless' systems being developed through crypto and blockchains, to a previous tenant of ours who ripped us off (or so we were led to believe).

35 - STOP focusing on values!

On Monday mornings, Suzette would catch a direct Midway Airlines flight to Raleigh, North Carolina, and be there in time for the start of the workweek. She did this for several months. It was great for us, and a win for SAS (Statistical Analysis System) Institute—they were able to incorporate Suzette's talents into their project. As it turns out, SAS was a GREAT place to work. Suzette and I learned firsthand how well things can function inside an organization that truly runs on Principles. In this episode, we share our SAS experiences, as well as those of several other companies who've centered their cultures around Principles.
