A Mother's Prayer

Are there areas in your life that feel barren? God-given desires and dreams that have yet to be fulfilled? The Lord is wanting to infuse hope on this Mother's Day and awaken faith in your spirit. It's time to prepare for birth in your barren place. Desperate times call for desperate prayers. 1 Samuel 1:10-11 NLT [10] Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the Lord. [11] And she made this vow: “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.” 1. Bring it to the Lord in prayer 2. Pray and keep on praying 3. Stay faithful and see how God will hear 1 Samuel 1:20 NLT [20] and in due time she gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, for she said, “I asked the Lord for him.” God heard Hannah. He hears you too.

Building Issues - Celebration Sunday - Rev. Jerry West

What God is building in your life is surely to face opposition, from the outside and in. Ezra records at the end of chapter 3 and the beginning of chapter 4, that when the foundation of the rebuilt temple was laid, there was mixed reactions and their were issues. Rev. Jerry West of Freedom Church DC shared a message for Promise Church in these early years and for you in this season of what God is building in your life to encourage you to discern and endure. Stay focused on the call and keep working. Ezra 3:10-13 NKJV (10) When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel. (11) And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord: “For He is good,For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.” Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid. (12) But many of the priests and Levites and heads of the fathers’ houses, old men who had seen the first temple, wept with a loud voice when the foundation of this temple was laid before their eyes. Yet many shouted aloud for joy, (13) so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people, for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the sound was heard afar off.

Kingdom Math

What is the Kingdom of God like? Jesus uses various illustrations throughout His ministry to explain the Kingdom of God. Why? Because it isn't like the Kingdom of this world. God's Kingdom is different. There are a different set of rules... Luke 13:18-19 “Then Jesus said, “What is the Kingdom of God like? How can I illustrate it? It is like a tiny mustard seed that a man planted in a garden; it grows and becomes a tree, and the birds make nests in its branches.”” With Kingdom Math, God does a lot with your little. Just ask the boy with the loaves and fishes, just ask Gideon, or the widow who gave part of her last meal to Elijah. With Kingdom Math, God multiplies by your obedience, not just your resources. Just show up, give what you can even if it just a little. Do what only you can do and let God do what only He can do!

Pray Until Something Happens

When there's resistance in our lives spiritually, don't just let it happen. Don't resign to what's comfortable. We don't say, that hurts so I'm going over here where there's less resistance. No, we need to pray for boldness. We need to PUSH: pray until something happens. Acts 4:29-31 29 "Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness."
