Acerca de Ten UNEDITED Minutes of Marlena's Time

Ten UNEDITED Minutes of Marlena’s Time is exactly what it sounds like—ten minutes, one take, no edits. Each morning, Marlena hits record and talks about whatever’s on her mind that day. Some days it’s business. Some days it’s faith. Some days it’s just real life as it’s happening. No scripts. No overthinking. No polished version—just honest thoughts, in real time. You never really know what you’re going to get… and that’s kind of the point.

When Faith Says "So What"

Today's podcast was inspired by a column written by local author Bill Herr about an extraordinary Bluffton woman, Marvel Hilty. As I read her story aloud, two simple statements she made stopped me in my tracks. When asked what helped her through difficult times, Marvel answered, "Being thankful for what I have." Later, after being warned that cancer treatments could be painful, her response was simply, "So what." Those two quotes reveal a life built on gratitude, faith, and the unwavering belief that God would provide the strength needed for whatever came her way. In this episode, I reflect on Marvel's remarkable outlook, what we can learn from her example, and how her words challenge us to face life's struggles with courage and trust in the Lord. Sometimes the greatest lessons come from ordinary people living extraordinary lives of faith. Marvel Hilty was one of those people.

One Negative Comment Won't Stop Me

Today's podcast started with a lesson in perseverance after a negative comment appeared on one of my YouTube videos. We all face critics and naysayers, but I'm determined not to let someone else's negativity derail my goals or silence my voice. From there, the conversation took an unexpected turn into the world of artificial intelligence. After spending the weekend watching documentaries, I found myself fascinated by a film that explored both sides of the AI debate. Is AI a dangerous technology that could harm society, or is it a powerful tool that could improve lives and solve some of our biggest challenges? Join me as I share my thoughts on criticism, staying focused on your purpose, and the growing conversation surrounding AI. As usual, this episode is an honest, unscripted journey wherever the conversation decides to go. #Podcast #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Motivation #PersonalGrowth

Let's talk about Jelly Roll: When God Rewrites Your Story

Sometimes God places a message on your heart when you least expect it. Before recording today's episode, I prayed and asked God what He wanted me to talk about. Almost immediately, my mind went back to a video I had watched of Jelly Roll performing at the CMA Awards. In the clip, he shared how he once sat next door in a juvenile detention facility dreaming of simply attending the CMA Awards someday. Years later, he wasn't sitting in the audience—he was standing on the stage performing. Today, I talk about the incredible transformation of Jelly Roll's life, the power of God's mercy and forgiveness, and why I admire the way he openly gives glory to Jesus. His story is proof that our past doesn't determine our future and that God can do far more with our lives than we could ever imagine. If you've ever felt unworthy, stuck, or defined by your mistakes, this episode is a reminder that God's grace is bigger than your past.

Off the Cuff: From Heat Waves to Heroism

Today's episode was completely off the cuff and full of unexpected twists! I attempted to sneak away for a few quiet minutes to record, but my granddaughter had other plans and made a surprise appearance midway through the show. From there, the conversation wandered into some current news stories, including school closures due to extreme heat and the incredible story of a police officer who risked his own safety to pull a woman from a burning vehicle. That story reminded me of a tragic local accident and led me to reflect on the compassion, courage, and emotional strength required of our law enforcement officers and first responders every single day. Sometimes the most meaningful conversations are the ones we never planned. Join me as I share thoughts on family, current events, and a heartfelt appreciation for the people who answer the call when others are facing their worst moments.

A Day Well Spent: Sprinklers, Snuggles & Starting Again

Yesterday didn't go according to plan, and that's okay. In today's episode, I challenged myself to focus on the positive and find the blessings in everyday moments. I shared why there wasn't a podcast episode yesterday, as my day was spent taking my mom to an appointment, supporting my daughter and future granddaughter through a little pregnancy scare, and then simply enjoying an evening together. One of the highlights of my day was watching my granddaughter run through a sprinkler for the very first time. The pure joy on her face reminded me how beautiful life's simple moments can be. As if that wasn't enough, I spent the evening getting snuggles from her, and my heart couldn't have been fuller. I wrapped up the episode with a reminder we all need sometimes: when we get off track with our goals, we don't quit—we simply get back up and keep going. Progress isn't about perfection; it's about continuing forward. Join me for a conversation about family, gratitude, living in the moment, and giving yourself grace when life interrupts your plans.
