Ty Mawr is the name of the coastal farm for Rhug Estate. It is on the western coast of north Wales, near the ancient town of Caernarfon and near the Iron Age hillfort of Dinas Dinlle. Plas yn Ddol is one of the historic farm sites at Rhug Estate. It sits on the banks of the Afon Alwen (River Alwen) towards the western edge of the estate, nestled under the slopes leading to Craig Arthbry and Mynydd Betws.
