Built Up and Growing Up | Acts 9:31-43 | May 31, 2026

Acts 9:31-43 Teacher: Pastor Tommy Bailey  Date: May 31, 2026 In Acts 9:31–43, Luke pauses to take the pulse of the early church, and he reveals a flourishing community: at peace, being built up, walking in the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Holy Spirit, and multiplying. Then he takes us to two bedsides. In Lydda, Peter heals a paralyzed man in the name of Jesus. In Joppa, a beloved disciple named Tabitha has died, and Peter kneels, prays, and calls her back to life. Two towns witness the power of the risen Christ, and they turn to the Lord. Join Pastor Tommy as we trace two movements of the Spirit in this passage: a church being built up and disciples growing up. Jesus keeps his promise to build his church, working through Peter and through the quiet, costly mercy of a woman known for her needle and thread. Growing in the likeness of Christ is not something impressive or polished, but a life slowly transformed by walking in the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Blinded By the Light | Acts 9:1-31 | May 24, 2026

Blinded By the Light Acts 9:1-31 Teacher: Pastor Tom Yarbrough Date: May 24, 2026 The extraordinary conversion of Saul on the road to Damascus is the most dramatic and well-known in all of history. Indeed, this undeniable encounter with the resurrected Jesus transformed the early church’s most dangerous enemy into its most influential missionary and the writer of nearly half the books in the New Testament. But as extraordinary as Saul’s experience was, his conversion was comprised of the same necessary elements as our own. What do all believing Christians have in common with Saul’s experience on the road to Damascus? A conversion that includes a context, a cause, and a consequence. Join Pastor Tom Yarbrough as we explore Acts 9 together. Oh, The Places You'll Go | Acts 8:26-40 | May 17, 2026

Oh, The Places You'll Go Acts 8:26-40 Teacher: Pastor Matt Pierson Date: May 17, 2026 What happens when Philip—once serving tables, now faithfully sharing the good news— is led by the Holy Spirit into the quiet of the desert, where he meets a traveler from a far-off land? Is it just a chance encounter, or is God at work, carrying the message of Jesus to the very ends of the earth? Join Pastor Matt as we walk through Acts 8:26–40 and consider how the Holy Spirit may be guiding our own lives— leading us into meaningful moments where we can share Christ with others. The Mission of the Spirit | Acts 8:1-25 | May 10, 2026

The Mission of the Spirit Acts 8:1-25 Teacher: Pastor Tommy Bailey Date: May 10, 2026 Before Jesus ascended, He promised His disciples that the Holy Spirit would empower them to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. In Acts 8:1-25, we arrive at a turning point in that mission. After the martyrdom of Stephen, fierce persecution in Jerusalem scatters the church, and what should have ended the mission instead ignites it. The gospel breaks into Samaria, a region long held in spiritual darkness and separated from the rest of Israel by nearly a thousand years of ethnic and religious bigotry from both Jews and Samaritans. There Philip preaches Christ, demons flee, the broken are healed, and the city is filled with joy. Join Pastor Tommy as we walk through this turn in the story by considering four figures: Saul the persecutor, Philip the refugee evangelist, the Samaritans longing for hope, and Simon Magus, the magician who craved power. In each of them we see something of the Spirit's mission to point people to Jesus, to convict of sin, to comfort the weary, and to renew the most unlikely heart. The Big Picture | Acts 7 | May 3, 2026

The Big Picture Acts 7 Teacher: Pastor Tommy Bailey Date: May 3, 2026 In Acts 6-7, we meet Stephen, the first Christian martyr, standing before the same religious council that condemned Jesus. Charged with blasphemy and facing death, he doesn't argue for his life. Instead, he retells the story of a pursuing God. From Abraham to Moses to David, Stephen traces the long thread of God's initiating grace through Israel's history, showing how every turn of history has been pointing to Jesus, the true and final Redeemer. Join Pastor Tommy as we consider the settled confidence of a man who knew to whom he belonged. Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit and unshaken, demonstrated a sturdy faith rooted not in religious systems, the law, or a temple made with hands, but in the God of glory who runs after rebel sinners and makes a way to reconcile them in Christ Jesus.
