Keeper of the Lost Cities, a book series by Shannon Messenger, tells the story of an elf named Sophie who grows up among humans, unaware of her true identity and past. The only thing Sophie knows for sure is that she is not a normal girl. She is several years ahead in school, and (most importantly) is a Telepath. She can hear the thoughts of everyone around her! One day everything changes when another elf named Fitz discovers her secret and shows her where she truly belongs: in the Lost Cities.
