The Ministry of Reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-21)
In this message from 2 Corinthians 5:18–21, guest preacher and Ashland Community Church member, Brother Faustin Kayinamura kicks off our "Ends of the Earth" missions week with a powerful message on "The Ministry of Reconciliation". While many religious cultures focus heavily on human effort and legalistic "do's and don'ts," biblical wisdom reminds us that the gospel always establishes the why before giving us the what. Before we are called to act, we must be deeply anchored in what Christ has already accomplished on our behalf.
The scriptures remind us of our broken state apart from Christ—we were completely dead, corrupt, and in a state of condemnation. Yet, out of infinite mercy, God chose not to count our trespasses against us. Through the perfect substitutionary work of Jesus on the cross, He paid our debt in full, taking our sins away and imputing His holy righteousness to us. Because we have been completely reconciled to God, we are now left here on earth to serve as His official ambassadors. Every single blood-bought believer is entrusted with this vital message of reconciliation—whether in our workplaces, our local neighborhoods, or by supporting global missions to the ends of the earth. Sharing this truth doesn’t require advanced theological degrees; it simply demands a willingness to declare: "I was blind, but now I see."
As we consider the Great Commission, let us joyfully give of our prayers, our finances, and our lives so that the Lamb who was slain might receive the full reward of His suffering.
