Grief
Grief is a strong emotion that we all will experience at some point or another in our lifetime.
And, YES, grief does have a direct correlation to me as a Consultant; as well as for all of us personally and professionally. As we have discussed a many of times in other episodes; it is important that we all strive to bring 100% of ourselves to work each day; our whole selves. Due to this mindset, we must recognize how grief affects us. We navigate through difficult times by allowing ourselves grace in our healing process. This may include a brief explanation to a client, manager, and/or co-worker of what is happening in our lives by effectively communicating, potentially taking time off, and/or requesting some grace and assistance with projects and/or due dates based upon your current circumstances. There is also the flip side of this situation where those around us may be grieving as well. (We are humans first and should be taking a people first approach in all things, at all times) If we give ourselves and others some grace; be transparent during our times of need, then we all become more equipped to address this complex, difficult, and quite sensitive topic.
During this episode I transparently discuss how I have personally experienced quite a bit of grief in the past couple of years and talk candidly about how it was and is all God that is getting me through every day, literally moment by moment.
We truly hope you find the grace and peace (that God grants you the peace that surpasses all understanding) to move forward through your grief and decide to help others through their moments as well. Empathy folks, compassion, empathy, and sympathy.
