Period Parle - Period Products!

Hey y'all!  Welcome back for another period parle! This episode we talk period products from the OG pad to the new age Period Panty!  First up is - the Pad, aka the tried and truest!  Pads have 8hr wear, come in varying sizes for your flow needs and typically this is where we all start out as newbs, so its very nostalgic! For me, its ranked dead last though...SORRY not sorry, no one told them to be SO loud when you open them!  On to tampons - now we're talking! Easy to carry, someone always has one, small and discreet. Best part, NO diaper feeling! A win in my book and if I'm ever in a pinch, they are always right there for a quick fix!  Real quick for the disc - its safe for 12hr wear, but leaks (for me). Fun fact, due to how it sits within the canal, the disc is the only period product that can be worn during the horizontal tango. Even still.... NEXT, it's not for me!  As for the Cup......she is a revolutionary, an ICON if you will. The cup literally changed the way I think about my period! Now its not as easy to insert so there is a bit of a learning curve. The best part? Once you get it down pact, its hard to go back!   New school is the period panty- these one by Thinx are.... interesting to say the least. Story Time! Controlled Cord Traction and Manual Placental Extraction

Hey y'all!  Why did no one tell me that Controlled Cord Traction (CCT) was considered normal?! In this video I walk you through the (horror) story of seeing CCT without ANY prior knowledge of the technique. Further more we discuss Manual Placental Extraction - what it is and when it's necessary. So thanks to Jessica for re-traumatizing me by suggesting I talk about this experience! To be clear, CCT is considered a "normal" practice often being used to decrease risk for postpartum hemorrhage by encouraging the uterus to clamp down on the blood vessels as the placenta is expelled. In this video I explain how in my opinion, ANY manipulation of the placental can be considered Manual Placental Extraction. So I learned a lot from this experience, hopefully you can too!
