Episode EP 036 Keith Shibley: Alcohol, Opiates, and The Badge "A Cops Story" Cover

EP 036 Keith Shibley: Alcohol, Opiates, and The Badge "A Cops Story"

Keith Shibley has spent over two decades in law enforcement—working patrol, investigations, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, and responding to major critical incidents including the Washington Navy Yard shooting and a 2025 mid-air collision over the Potomac River. But this episode isn’t just about the job. It’s about what the job does to you. After the Navy Yard shooting, Keith was injured—and like many in law enforcement, he carried the weight of that experience long after the scene was cleared. What followed was a battle with alcohol and opiate use, a struggle that too many officers face but few are willing to talk about. In this conversation, we go beyond the badge and into the reality of trauma, coping, and the road back. Sponsored by: @theatreprotectives TheatreProtectives.com

Episode EP 035 Matt Jones: "Shots Fired" Cover

EP 035 Matt Jones: "Shots Fired"

In this episode, TJ Webb sits down with Matt “Jonesy” Jones, a retired Deputy Sheriff who faced the kind of moment every cop knows is possible—but hopes never comes. Matt shares the story of the day a routine patrol turned into a shooting, forcing him to make a split-second decision to protect his own life. He talks about what that moment was really like, what goes through your mind when there’s no time to think, and how everything changes after the trigger is pulled. But the shooting was only part of the story. Matt also opens up about the personal losses he’s carried throughout his life and career—the loss of his mother, his K9 partner, and a fellow deputy and close friend killed in another shooting. This conversation goes beyond the incident, diving into grief, brotherhood, and the weight that doesn’t go away when the call is over. This episode is about reality—what the job demands, what it takes, and what it leaves behind.

Episode EP 034 (Part 2) Brock Callaway: What Comes From War Cover

EP 034 (Part 2) Brock Callaway: What Comes From War

In this episode, TJ Webb sits down with Brock Callaway—United States Marine, former Drill Instructor, and a man who has faced both the chaos of war and the weight of what follows. Brock deployed to Afghanistan twice, operating in some of the most dangerous environments of the war, where IEDs and daily combat were a constant reality. After being wounded stepping on an IED, his path could have easily changed—but Brock made the decision to fight his way back, earning medical clearance and continuing his career in the Marine Corps. He went on to become a Marine Corps Drill Instructor, stepping into one of the most demanding roles in the military and rising through the ranks while shaping the next generation of Marines. His leadership and performance earned him numerous accolades, including a nomination for United States Marine Corps Drill Instructor of the Year. But the real battle didn’t end when the deployments did. In 2019, after years of carrying the weight of combat and leadership, Brock hit a breaking point and attempted to take his own life. This conversation goes straight into that darkness—what led him there, what it felt like, and what it took to come back from it. Through years of hard work, therapy, and rebuilding, Brock found a new sense of purpose. Today, he continues to serve as a firefighter, while speaking openly about the invisible battles so many veterans and first responders face. This episode is about war, identity, breaking down, and building back up. No filters. No BS. Just the truth about what it takes to survive—and keep going.

EP 033: Stefan Talabisco , "ALife of Extremes"

In this episode, TJ Webb sits down with Stefan “The Freak” Talabisco former heavyweight boxer, Marine veteran, and a man who thrives in competition in every form. Known for his knockout power in the ring, Stefan talks about how that same edge shows up across his life today from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to competitive eating contests, where he’s taken that all-in mindset to a completely different arena.  But beneath all of it is a deeper conversation about identity, purpose, and life after the uniform. Stefan opens up about the transition out of the military, the need for structure and challenge, and why having outlets to channel intensity whether it’s training, competing, or even something unconventional is critical for long-term mental health. From the ring to the mat to the table, this episode is about staying in the fight, finding purpose, and building a life that keeps you moving forward.
