Conversation - with Pastor Jared & Pastor Robby - Kingdom Wisdom Launch

Welcome to the launch of Kingdom Wisdom, Church of the Lakes' newest sermon series exploring the practical and transformative teachings of the Book of James. In this episode of Kingdom Conversations, Pastor Robby Strock and Pastor Jared Priset introduce the historical background, purpose, and key themes of James, a letter that challenges believers to live out their faith with authenticity and a Kingdom mindset. Together they discuss why James remains one of the most relevant books of the Bible today, addressing topics such as enduring life's trials, living faith through action, showing mercy and justice, taming the tongue, and walking in humility. As Church of the Lakes focuses on developing a Kingdom Mindset in 2026, this conversation will help you discover what it means to view life through "God goggles" and follow Jesus in a way that is both countercultural and deeply practical. The episode also features our "Real Questions, Real Answers" segment, where we explore James 1:5 and discuss why believers often struggle to seek God's wisdom before making important decisions. Whether you're new to the Bible, a longtime follower of Christ, or preparing to join us for this sermon series, this episode provides a helpful introduction to the wisdom and challenges found in the Book of James. Episode Sermon - Faith in the Fire: "Kingdom Wisdom " Series Cover

Sermon - Faith in the Fire: "Kingdom Wisdom " Series

Sermon Outline Focus: God uses trials not to destroy our faith, but to develop mature, surrendered, Kingdom people. I. Trials develop our faith (James 1:2-3)           Trials reveal what we are truly trusting in.           Pressure exposes foundations.           God often meets us in the fire, not around it.           Can you say, “Even when I do not understand, I will trust the character of God.”           The fiery furnace and Shadrach, Meshach, & Abednego (Daniel 3) II. Trials produce maturity and dependence (James 1:4-5)          God is more committed to our maturity than our comfort.          Trials deepen dependence on God.          Wisdom is seeing life through the rule and reign of Jesus.          Perseverance is not formed in comfort, but hardship (Romans 5:3-5; 2          Corinthians 12:9-10) III. Trials reveal surrendered faith (James 1:6-8)          Trials expose divided loyalties.          Faith learns to trust God even when circumstances are uncertain.          Kingdom people anchor their lives fully in Christ. IV. When trials come:          Don’t interpret hardship as abandonment.          Ask: “God, what are You producing in me?”          Ask God daily for wisdom.          Keep praying, obeying, and trusting.          Anchor your life fully in Christ. V. Kingdom people are not people who never face trials. They are people who              discover that even in the fire, Jesus is faithful. Conversation - with Pastor Jared & Pastor Robby - Citizens of Heaven Wraps Up

Join Pastor Robby and Pastor Jared for this special Kingdom Conversation as they wrap up the Citizens of Heaven sermon series — a journey through the book of Philippians. In this episode, they reflect on Paul’s powerful message of joy, perseverance, humility, and Kingdom-minded living while facing suffering and imprisonment. Together, they discuss what it means to live as citizens of Heaven while still navigating life on earth, how believers can “press on toward the goal,” and how Christ’s example of humility should shape the way we live and treat others. The conversation also explores practical ways Christians can stand firm in the Lord, remain faithful in a distracted world, and keep eternity in view. Plus, during the “Real Questions, Real Answers” segment, Pastor Robby and Pastor Jared tackle an honest and challenging question: If Jesus evaluated our church today, what would He confront us about? As Church of the Lakes continues its 2026 emphasis on developing a Kingdom Mindset, this episode offers encouragement and practical wisdom for anyone desiring to follow Jesus more faithfully and live courageously in love. Don’t miss this meaningful conclusion to the Citizens of Heaven series — and a preview of the upcoming Kingdom Wisdom series through the book of James. Episode Sermon - Kingdom Peace and Contentment: "Citizens of Heaven" Series Cover

Sermon - Kingdom Peace and Contentment: "Citizens of Heaven" Series

Sermon Outline Focus: Peace and contentment are not found in perfect circumstances, but in the presence and sufficiency of Christ. They are Kingdom fruit produced through trust and surrender. I. Kingdom Peace is rooted in the presence of Christ (Philippians 4:4–7)        “Rejoice in the Lord always…”         Peace is rooted in Christ, not circumstances.         Anxiety grows when we try to control what only God can carry.         “The peace of God” guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. II. Kingdom Peace flows from a Kingdom Mindset (Philippians 4:8–9)         What you dwell on… disciples you.         Peace grows where the mind is anchored in truth.         The world disciples us into fear, striving, and comparison.         Kingdom people say: “Because I have Christ… I already possess what         matters most.” III. Kingdom Contentment is learned through trusting Christ (Philippians 4:10–13)         Contentment does not come naturally – it is learned.         Paul’s peace was anchored in Christ, not his circumstances.         Philippians 4:13 is not about achieving dreams but enduring all things         through Christ’s strength.         The example of Elizabeth Elliot         Peace and contentment are Kingdom fruit.  Support the show [https://churchofthelakes.breezechms.com/give/online] Visit us online at churchofthelakes.org or on social media at churchofthelakesohio
