For those of us that just dont have that extra money lying around - check out these tips for saving money without being cheap. Youll still have a beautiful, memorable wedding without all the debt.
Ive been to many weddings in my lifetime, but planning one has definitely been an eye-opener for me. I learned a lot about the hidden expenses that you dont think about until youre knee-deep in the plans. We were able to cut out a lot of these, as well as a lot of the extras, and still have a beautiful wedding.
Luckily, we had friends and family that were willing to contribute to our beautiful day, so that saved us a lot too. At the end of it all, were just as married as we would be if we had spent that $27,000, and we probably came out of our own pockets under $500.
50 Things to Know Before Getting Married offers many tips. You can spend a few hours with this audiobook, or this audiobook can be a quick skim of important information all in one place. You don't need a wedding planner to plan a wedding. You can keep to your wedding budget by creating your own wedding plan.

Some good and some bad - a worthwhile book overall
I was asked to download, read and review this book by the author. I've downloaded and read it, so here's my honest, unbiased review:
This book had some great parts and some not so great parts. The things I liked about the book are:
1) It was well organized
2) It had good info on saving money
3) It contained overall useful information to those planning weddings.
The following are the things I didn't like as much about the book:
1) There were quite a few typos. (Which is fixable, It think the authors should just read through the book on more time and pay special attention to detail.)
2) It seemed like nearly all of the information in the book was directed towards brides - nothing for the grooms! This being the case, I think the authors should mention that in their book description. If they don't, that can generate a ton of negative reviews from guys.
And that's it. So, my overall thoughts on the book are that it could have used a little more work but I still think that it is worthwhile to engaged couples. (At least the brides.)
